Stranger Things casts retro eighties stars Sean Astin and Paul Reiser in season two

Stranger Things' directing duo Ross & Matt Duffer have added three more castmembers to the highly-anticipated second season.

According to EW - Sean Astin joins the ensemble as RadioShack manager Bob Newby, who went to the same high school as Joyce (Winona Ryder) and Hopper (David Harbour).

It's no coincidence that the Duffers selected the 45-year-old Oscar nominee, who played Goonies leader Mikey Walsh in Richard Donner's 1985 treasure hunt classic.

Perhaps Bob will provide low-fi technology to the eighties gang of precocious tweens on bikes.

The Goonies famously featured DIY spy gadgets and booby traps as well as a gaggle of Oregon kids facing foreclosure.

Also new to Hawkins is Paul Reiser, who will play Department of Energy representative Dr. Owens 'tasked with containing the events of last year.'
