Proud new parents: Russell Brand, 41, has revealed he's become a father for the first time after welcoming a baby with girlfriend Laura Gallacher, 27

'He was conscious of the clock and made sure he was off stage by just approaching 9pm as he "needed to get down the f***ing M21 as my girlfriend has just had a baby."'

Russell recently revealed he was looking forward to becoming a father in an interview with Evening Standard magazine.

The comedian told the publication: 'I feel lit up by the idea. I’m very excited about becoming a dad and I’m preparing myself. I am just getting ready to be with a new little person and see what it is they want.'

Sharing is caring: The comedian reportedly made the announcement during a performance at the Nottingham Playhouse on Sunday night

Meanwhile, a source previously told MailOnline: 'It’s all about Laura and becoming a dad now. They have been living as a couple for the past six months and are determined to make a go of their relationship.

It feels like a new chapter in their lives and the couple are enjoying every moment, including discussing baby names.

'Russell is absolutely made up. Most of his closest friends have children and he was desperate to start a family.'

Not so rock and roll: He's currently experiencing domestic bliss with his girlfriend and the funnyman admitted his lifestyle is worlds away from his hedonistic past

Russell has demonstrably turned his back on the party lifestyle he once entertained in honour of domestic bliss with his girlfriend

He explained to ES magazine: 'It is very calm. I look at the chickens, they hatch some eggs. Basically I’m like a village idiot — just looking at livestock.

'I’m so much happier over the course of the day to see one or two people and a few chickens, that’s a good way of living.'

The woman who tamed him: Russell recently admitted that he was 'enjoying monogamy' now that he was expecting a baby with Laura

Get ready for action in Laura's Topshop joggers

There are a couple of ways to wear a pair of joggers.

First you can go the fashion editor way with heels and a simple tee half tucked in. Second you can just do full on loungewear and keep things as casual as possible. We reckon Laura Gallacher was only thinking about comfort when she put this laid back look together and we don't blame her.

Yep, she went for dressed down to the max, working her pair from Topshop with a khaki army jacket and black trainers. We love the camouflage print on these sweatpants and that contrasting black racer stripe down the outside of each leg.

So whether you want to do dressed up joggers or dressed down joggers, why not click (right) to buy them now? Or you can find more camo prints in our edit below from Sol Angeles, Missguided and Hush.

His change in habits have also encouraged the former lothario to change his ways, as he revealed that he is now 'enjoying monogamy.'

During a candid chat on the Jonathan Ross show, he said: '[I am enjoying monogamy] because there is a baby coming.

'One of them sperm finally made it, after I’d released so many, so abundantly, indiscriminate. Who knows who could have been born, which geniuses have been squandered?

'Some of that is because I’m in a monogamous relationship now so I’m a lot calmer… I like it as a matter of fact. I live a quiet rural life now out in the country… this animal husbandry and this new venture I think will soon put me back on top.'

Split: The self-confessed sex addict married singer Katy Perry in 2010, but they endured a less-than-amicable divorced two years later in 2012

Russell, who endured a less-than-amicable split with ex-wife Katy Perry in 2012, also said that he's been reading a new parenting book every week to prepare for fatherhood, and that he's already started painting the baby's room.

'I’ve accepted the idea that that person will be more important than me,' he said. '"Jesus Three", I’m thinking of calling him or her.

'We don’t know the gender I may not even ever impose a gender upon it, let the child grow up and be the whatever the hell it is, never tell it there is such a concept.'

Reading up: Russell confirmed the pregnancy news in July with a snap of himself reading a book about pregnancy and has shared several similar snaps since

Famous womaniser Russell has been involved with a host of high-profile names including Kate Moss, Courtney Love, former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, Australian actress Teresa Palmer and billionaire’s daughter Jemima Goldsmith.

The self-confessed sex addict married singer Katy in 2010, but they divorced two years later, while he and Laura have been in an on-off relationship for years.

After their romance first ended in 2007, the pair were spotted together in 2009 before rekindling their relationship last year when they spent a romantic weekend in Rome, Italy.

Loved-up: Russell confessed to getting teary eyed when he proposed to on/off girlfriend Laura - partly because he was so proud of how he did it claiming it was his 'own beauty'

After the pair reconciled for the third time, Russell decided to pop the question, and confessed to getting teary eyed during their engagement - partly because he was so proud of how he did it.

'I cried at my own beauty,' he said. 'You know when you think, "I’m being so nice now, Oh God I think I’m going to cry" because you’re impressed with how nice you are… I properly planned it and put proper ideas into it and made it all nice and did like a surprise party for her and her mum helped me to organise it, get her on side!'

The St Trinian's actor is believed to have thrown an engagement party at his Oxfordshire home in July, attended by Laura's famous sister Kirsty Gallachar and Footballers' Wives beauty Susie Amy.

The couple now share two cats, 13 chickens and a dog, which, along with his relationship, help keep him grounded.

'Having been famous for a decade…I’ve kind of realised that you have to have some sort of transcendent inner serenity and some genuine earthed things in your life otherwise you’ll go mental.'

Nesting: Russel said that he had been reading a new parenting book every week to prepare for fatherhood, and that he had already started painting the baby's room
