Oh baby! Mel Gibson, 60, packs on the PDA with pregnant girlfriend Rosalind Ross, 26, as he receives Hollywood Film Award

Mel Gibson looks to be getting back into Hollywood's circle of trust.

The 60-year-old, who's been amiss from Hollywood for the better part of a decade amid multiple documented incidents of racism and misogyny, looked to be back in the swing of things at Sunday's 20th Annual Hollywood Film Awards.

The actor-director he walked the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton Hotel for the event with his pregnant girlfriend Rosalind Ross, 26.

Gibson was slated to add to his mantelpiece at the ritzy event, as organizers with Dick Clark Productions last month tabbed the Academy Award-winning star and director of Braveheart with the Hollywood director award, an honor previously bestowed upon iconic filmmakers such as Martin Scorsese, Oliver Stone, David O. Russell and Ron Howard, Variety reported. 

The New York-born, Australia-raised star wore a conservative navy blue suit with a striped red tie and black dress shoes, sporting a thick beard with a large grey patch around his chin.

Rosalind, an ex-equestrian vaulter, wore an elegant black gown with a white shoulder-less top, carrying a white purse.

Ross - who looks to be the first love interest Gibson's emerged publicly with since his infamous 2010 split with baby mama Oksana Grigorieva - beamed with her long black locks worn down, red lipstick and ornate earrings.

May-December romance: Gibson disregards the 31-year age difference between himself and Ross, who's expecting his ninth child. He told The Mirror, 'Regarding age and relationships, it's just a number. We dig each other.'

The honors at Sunday's event coincided with this weekend's release of Hacksaw Ridge, a World War II film Gibson directed that stars Andrew Garfield and Vince Vaughn. 

The critically-acclaimed period piece, which looks to be Gibson's re-entry into show business in the wake of the multiple scandals, had a modest box office in its opening weekend with a $14.75 million, third-place finish, well behind Doctor Strange ($85 million) and Trolls ($45.6 million).

The Lethal Weapon actor's path back to relevance comes just more than 10 years after he was arrested in Malibu in connection with drunk driving, as first reported by TMZ.

In the July 2006 incident, Gibson launched into a racist rant disparaging Jews, in which he declared, 'The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world,' and asked the arresting officer, Los Angeles Police Department Deputy James Mee, 'Are you a Jew?'

While Gibson reemerged with a starring turn in the crime drama Edge of Darkness, released in January of 2010, he plummeted back to Hollywood pariah-ville six months later after a series of recordings of him verbally abusing Grigorieva surfaced on Radar Online.

On the tapes, Gibson was heard calling Grigorieva a 'b****, c**t, wh**e,' and 'gold digger,' while admitting to striking her. At one point, he threatened the mother of his eighth child, 'I’ll put you in a f***ing rose garden you c**t!'

Gibson was also heard using offensive racist phrases in the shocking series of diatribes.

Gibson - who in 2011 entered a no contest plea to misdemeanor spousal battery in connection with the incident with Grigorieva - opened up to Deadline about the shock he felt when the explosive recordings were shared with the world.

'Who anticipates being recorded? Who anticipates that? Who could anticipate such a personal betrayal?' he said in the April 2011 interview. 'I’ve never treated anyone badly or in a discriminatory way based on their gender, race, religion or sexuality - period.

'I don’t blame some people for thinking that though, from the garbage they heard on those leaked tapes, which have been edited.'

Gibson said that he was 'trying to get out of a really unhealthy relationship' at the time of the contentious conversations. He added that the content on the tapes did not 'represent what I truly believe or how I’ve treated people my entire life.
