But model Ann-Kathrin Brommel obviously had a different idea as she hit the MTV Europe Music Awards red carpet in Holland on Sunday night.

The stunning 26-year-old hit the awards show with her footballer beau Mario Gotze - but she was handed a red card for a major fashion faux pas.

Ann-Kathrin showed off her amazing figure in a ting black chainmail dress - but exposed too much as the flash of the cameras showed up the nipple pasties she wore underneath.

However, seemingly unaware of the wardrobe malfunction, the stunning brunette worked the cameras and made the most of being in the spotlight.

She posed alongside the 24-year-old German player, who looked dapper in a black turtle neck, blazer and black jeans.

The pair have been together since their teens, and Ann-Kathrin revealed in 2014 that she would love for them to get hitched in the future.

She explained: 'We watch movies all day, go to the cinema and eat all the time, we are very lazy.

'He can cook very well, better than me, it is perfect.’
