Gilding the Lily! Collins shows off svelte figure in dress split to the thigh as she brings a touch of old Hollywood glamour to awards show

With her smokey eye make-up, deep crimson lipstick and striking frock, Lily Collins brought a touch of old Hollywood to the Annual Hollywood Film Awards on Sunday.

The 27-year-old actress's gown featured a cream low cut front with zig zag waist band.

The skirt was split at the front to the thigh, while strappy heels added to the look.

The daughter of rocker Phil Collins teased her brown hair in waves which framed her face while subtle earrings completed the glamorous effect. 

Lily joined the likes of Natalie Portman, Nicole Kidman and Kate Hudson at the event which celebrates the official launch of awards season.

Hosted by James Cordon, the Hilton Hotel ceremony will honour Mel Gibson with the Director Award, Naomie Harris for the the Breakout Actress Award and Actor Award for Tom Hanks.

Lily, who next stars in Warren Beatty-directed film Rules Don't Apply, was on hand to accept the New Hollywood Award at the event.

Lily plays aspiring star Marla Mabrey in 1950s Hollywood in the movie, written and directed by Beatty.

In the flick, Rosie actress's career chasing character finds herself caught in a love triangle between chauffeur Frank Forbes - played by Alden Ehrenreich - and obsessive-compulsive billionaire Hughes - played by Warren.

The star-studded cast includes Warren's wife Annette Bening, Alec Baldwin, Haley Bennett, Martin Sheen, Steve Coogan, Ed Harris, Candice Bergen and Oliver Platt.

The film marks Beatty's first directorial in 18 years, while he hasn't appeared in a feature film since 2001's Town and Country.
