X Factor fans have claimed the show is 'fixed' as the phone voting app 'stopped working' during Sunday's eviction show.

Viewers can use a 'lifeline vote' to save one act in the bottom three to put them into the next round.

However a number claimed it closed before they were able to cast their vote.

Having been a firm favourite throughout the competition Four of Diamonds saw their run on the X Factor finally end on Sunday night - some viewers claimed the decision was a fix

The girl group were sent home on Sunday night, but viewers said they had been unable to vote on the X Factor app

Samuel Carvalho wrote: 'Hard to believe [the voting has ended] when 99 per cent of people couldn't vote!'

Another, Aaron Linstead, said: 'The X Factor app was down so how could we even vote?'

Another wrote: 'It didn't even work. What a fix.'

Debbie Mason commented: 'The voting service was down and I couldn't get on it so missed voting! I can't have been the only one. Disappointed.'

Another disgruntled fan said: 'I thought you was suppose to convince us the show isn't a fix?'

The winner: After being left to battle it out for a second week running, the girl group lost out to Saara Aalto on the Girlband Vs Boyband weekend

The result of the vote saw fans save Sam Lavery, putting girl band Four of Diamonds and Finnish singer Saara Alto into a sing-off.

The judges elected to send Four of Diamonds home after failing to impress with their shaky vocal performance of Jessie J's 'Who Are You?'

A source close to the show said: 'There were some problems reported during the lifeline vote and X Factor are currently looking into it.'
