She's been a solid contender throughout the competition and topped the leaderboard last Saturday night with an impressive 39 points.

But Louise Redknapp has revealed her children - Charley, 12, and Beau, seven - were wary about her taking part in Strictly Come Dancing at first because they were worried she might embarrass them.

The 42-year-old star candidly confessed during an appearance on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday: 'To start with the older one was like, "Please don’t embarrass me!" But that’s what’s great about the show, everyone gets involved.

'They’ve all come down to rehearsals and Jamie comes too.'

The two youngsters are now firmly supportive of Louise and have even been offering her unusual tips to improve her dancing.

Her dance partner Kevin Clifton chimed in: 'They help out! I couldn’t get Louise to stretch her arm and the little one was like,"Mum stretch, like you’re trying to reach a new handbag!”'

The former Eternal singer confessed that her husband Jamie Redknapp was her number one fan and constantly offering her support.

Louise and Kevin wowed with the first Argentine Tango on the series last week.

Whilst Craig may have scored nine to the audience's chagrin, the pair's impressive moves received a set of straight 10s from the other judges, rounding up their score to 39 and ensuring they topped the leaderboard.

Louise and Kevin are set to perform the American smooth this coming weekend and she revealed she was feeling the nerves.

'We’ve only had a few hours giving it a go – it’s early days. I always have a bit of a meltdown Monday and Tuesday, I’m scared Thursday and have a breakdown Friday – that’s the rule of thumb!', she said.

The GMB presenters told Kevin that he was a sure-fire bet to be in the final, teasing the dancer that this could be year he wins.

'I don’t want to put any pressure on Louise… But, yeah hopefully,' he admitted, with Louise chiming in, 'He has brilliant partners every time.'
