Uber will now feed you after a drunken night out: Ride sharing app launches service that delivers takeaway food to your door as you arrive home

  • Uber now has the ability to sync their services in Australian cities
  • The rideshare service can insure your food and car arrive at home at once
  • They have  unveiled a friend finder to help connect people on a night out

Rideshare service, Uber, is rolling out a new update which will help customer synchronise getting home after a night out at the same time as a greasy feed arrives on their doorstep.

The Australian branch of the rideshare service added the extra features in their app in the latest upgrade.

One of the most popular new features coincides with the rollout of UberEATS – the company's food delivery service and promises to get customers home at the same time as their takeaway food.

Uber's new app has been streamlined so it is easier to use - and now customers can enjoy their UberEATS deliveries at the same time they arrive home from the pub

Another feature will allow customers to set their friends as the destination – tracking their phone for accuracy.

'Just sync your contacts with the app, type their name into the search bar and once they've shared their location, you'll be on your way,' a company spokesperson said.

Uber has often come under fire for bill shock due to its controversial surge pricing model.

But the new update could help customers understand how much their lift home will actually cost them. There will be an option to see how much your fair costs up front by entering in your destination.

The new app also has suggestions for users - showing them their recent places

'You also see what time we expect you to arrive, so you have what you need to make the best decision for your wallet and schedule.'

The new app is only available on IOS now but will be rolling out on Android devices soon.

The company believed the app needed to be overhauled because it had become 'too complicated' for users.

Another new feature is the upfront fare estimate which will help stop the bill shock in the morning
