And what did all these mega-donors receive in return? Much of it came from Wall Street banks and malodorous foreign regimes, prepared to pay up to $750,000 (£600,000) for a single speech. New York subway riders find ingenious ways bring their dogs with them on the train

Dogs aren't allowed on the subway unless they are in a 'container' or a bag. That doesn't seem to bother New Yorkers (or their dogs) who are finding ingenious ways to drag their dogs onto the train. The rules stipulate: 'No person may bring any animal on or into any conveyance or facility unless enclosed in a container,' - but the rules leave open to interpretation just how big the container can be and therefore, the size of the animal. New Yorkers seem to have even trained the biggest dogs that if they're to go out on the town, they need to sit (and fit) happily into a backpack or duffle bag.
