Opening up: Andrea McLean has shared her heartbreak at never being able to have children with partner Nick Feeney after returning to Loose Women following a hysterectomy
‘It’s just coming up to six weeks now, there’s physical things to get over but my biggest fear was mentally falling over a cliff because that’s menopause,’ she said of her recovery.
‘My life is really great at the moment and I didn’t want to do anything to spoil it but luckily apart from a couple of hormonal moments, touch-wood its fine.’
The presenter admitted Nick, who she met in 2014, had been 'beyond fabulous,' both before and after her operation.

'I was being brave for him,' she said. 'As we went down (to the operating theatre) he waved goodbye and I started crying. I said to the nurse "This is like Green Mile."
Andrea, already a parent to son Finlay, 15, and daughter Amy, 10, from her two previous marriages, admitted she was relieved her loved ones were not close by when she came round.
'I'm not great with anaesthetic, my whole body was shaking and convulsing,' she recalled. 'I literally came round and it was just like that.
No alternative: Reflecting on the decision to have her uterus removed, Andrea admitted she was left with no alternative after being diagnosed with endometriosis
'I was very very cold and that took a while to wear off. My teeth were clenching and then I felt very sick, very very nauseous.
'I played everything down… but as a woman I've had my engine removed. I had endometriosis and that's why I took the decision; it can spread and it had spread to my bladder and large intestine.
'It takes a long time to get over that, let alone having your engine removed.'
Moving: Andrea also told of a heart-wrenching conversation she had with her partner Nick Feeney after her hysterectomy
The presenter has moved on following her operation, but she admitted the reality of her decision hit home when she realized she will never be able to have children with her partner, should they ever wish to do so.
She added: 'It's interesting because I’m an incredibly level person. Me and Nick met later in life and both have our own children, but I was sitting and looking at Nick and I was thinking how lucky I am and there was just this wave that we'll never have children together.
'And I said to Nick "If we had children what do you think they would they be like? I said "Do you think we’d have a son because you don’t have a son, you have daughters," and then his eyes filled up. We had a little moment but now it’s all good.'
