'We actually didn’t have her in for any fittings,' she told, adding: 'We Skyped her regarding her measurements [at the start].'

The popular designer described it as a 'miracle' that her piece fitted Audrina perfectly on the day because at the time she was measured, she had only just welcomed her first child.

She explained it was difficult at the beginning of the designing process because 'she was still breast feeding and her bust was fluctuating constantly.'

'We had to pad up a dummy with her measurements and honestly just hope for the best,' she added.

Joy explained to Daily Mail Australia she was provided with a brief from Audrina, which stated she 'wanted it [dress] to be very romantic, with a slight boho feeling to it as well as relaxed with a low back.'

The silk-white figure-hugging ensemble was created out of French Chantilly lace and heavy rope accents, which were appliqued all by-hand.

After sticking to the brief and creating the breathtaking piece, Joy flew the final product to New York in October, where Audrina met for the first and final fitting.
