Justin also had another reason to celebrate, he was being honoured at the annual event for his song Can't Stop The Feeling from the animated flick.

Anna presented the 35-year-old with his Hollywood Song Award during the ceremony, making it extra special.

For the evening, Justin dressed in a simple black suit with a grey shirt which he left unbuttoned and skipped wearing a tie with.

Anna meanwhile, wore a black and white dress that was far from her best style statement.

Feel the love: Anna presented the 35-year-old with his Hollywood Song Award during the ceremony, making it extra special

The 31-year-old looked more like she was headed to her junior prom than an awards ceremony.

The above the knee dress featured a black and white sequined patterned skirt.

The empire waistline dress had a black semi sheer top with spaghetti straps with an asymmetrical frill.

Let your star shine with an embellished dress like Anna's

There are a few motifs that Giambattista Valli carries with him throughout all his collections. The designer loves flouncey hemlines and buoyant chiffon fabrics, his Spring collection updated these tropes into modern and moodier pieces.

Take for instance this stunning little cocktail dress on Anna Kendrick worn for the red-carpet premiere of Trolls.

Her delicate chiffon, slip-like top drops into a heavily beaded art-deco patterned skirt. Anna's dress is the perfect item to wear to a dressy event where a gown might be over-doing it but an LBD is not enough.

Sadly, this beaded beauty won't be available for purchase till next Spring. In the meantime, why don't you shop similar style in the edit below?

All friller, no killer: The empire waistline dress had a black semi sheer top with spaghetti straps with an asymmetrical frill

The star paired the dress with  a pair of black heels which wrapped around her ankles.

One thing the actress did get very right was her hair.

There was certainly no wild and sticking up troll hair here, instead the Twilight actress wore her brown locks fastened back in a ponytail that was sleek but had just enough volume in the crown.

Party time: Anna took to the event's stage with fellow Trolls star James Corden

Say cheese: Backstage the singer posed up with Susan Sarandon and Lenny Kravitz

Anna and Justin's animated feature Trolls certainly got bums in seats in US theatres and worldwide on its debut weekend.

While Marvel film Doctor Strange took the top spot by earning $85 million in North America and $118.7 million overseas, Trolls made $45.6 million locally.

It racked up $30 million overseas. The DreamWorks film features a star-studded roster of celebrity voices including Justin, Anna, Russell Brand, James Corden and Gwen Stefani.
