This owner was given a very hostile reception by his cat when he tried to give her a brush down to remove some loose fur.

Mark Glindmeyer, from Jersey City, wisely wore protective goggles for the procedure, which saw the snow white Persian regularly batting him away. 

Cookie grew increasingly irritated, meowing angrily and lashing out at Mark's face with her paws.

She also tried to bite the purple brush that was being used to clean her coat, but to no avail.

Mark and his wife, Athina, also own another cat, Rukas, who has his own Instagram account.

They said: 'We adopted Cookie in the hopes of creating a new friendship but that was not the case. 

'Cookie hates Rukas! It’s a good thing she is adorable.'
