Jared Padalecki and wife Genevieve are expecting a third child.

The 34-year-old actor made the announcement during a guest appearance on the Live! with Kelly show on Monday morning.

'I'm a father of two, now about to be a father of three in March,' the Gilmore Girls star revealed.

On Saturday Jared took to Twitter and teased his fans, 'Clear your schedules on Monday, Nov. 7th, I’m going on @LiveKelly!! And I have somethin SUPER cool to share with yall (sic).'

Jared and Genevieve, 35, began dating after meeting on the set of Supernatural in 2008.

The couple tied the knot in February 2010 in Sun Valley, Idaho and currently reside in Austin, Texas.

They already share their two young sons - Tom, aged four, and Shepherd, two.

Meanwhile the hunky actor is set to reprise his role as Dean Forester in the Netflix series Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.

The new mini-series will see the return of several supporting players from the original show which ran from 2000 until 2006.

Jared will play the most devoted boyfriend of Rory, portrayed by the original Alexis Bledel, 35.

Although he will not be the only former flame of Rory's - as Logan (Matt Czuchry) and Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) - will also return to Stars Hollow.

'[Dean is] probably working at Doosey's,' Jared told E! News in June.
