Amber Heard makes rare public appearance as she attends a Los Angeles photography exhibit

Amber Heard has been slowly making her way back into the limelight after her divorce from Johnny Depp.

The 30-year-old actress was among those who attended the opening of #girlgaze: a frame of mind, a Los Angeles photo exhibit held Friday at the Annenberg Space for Photography Skylight Studios.

She kept things crisp and clean wearing a white button-up shirt, black pencil skirt and a silver necklace.

Magnificent: Amber Heard, 30, was her gorgeous self as she attended #girlgaze: a frame of mind in Los Angeles on Friday

The Zombieland beauty was one of many famous faces at the progressive display, as others in the room included famed photographer Amanda de Cadenet, 44; filmmaker Gia Coppola, 29; Girl Meets World actress Girl Meets World Rowan Blanchard, 15; and Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe's 17-year-old daughter Ava Phillippe.

The swanky showcase bills itself as 'an interactive, digitally driven exhibit for all ages that maps the imaginative landscape of young, female and trans-identifying photographers from around the world.'

The display, which is driven in large part through social media sites, aims to provide a platform for women to express themselves, through art, on hot button topics ranging from standards of beauty to mental health to relationship issues, according to organizers.

Many of the pieces displayed were debuted at the function, which afforded guests the chance to contribute their own works via social media.

Put your best foot forward in Amber's cut out shoes by Maison Margiela

Now THIS is how you style up a simple ensemble for the red carpet.

Amber Heard was spotted checking out a photography exhibit in Los Angeles rocking a monochromatic look of a black high waist skirt paired with a simple white button-up blouse tucked in.

But the real show stopping moment was in her quirky footwear. She chose a pair of cut-out shoe boots by Maison Margiela that took our breathe away.

We love the sleek leather and d'Orsay shape of these shoes, which is typical of Maison Margiela's deconstructed aesthetic. If your shoe wardrobe is just one pair of black ankle boots after another at the moment, then these are a great way to mix things up a bit. The blocky heel is bang on trend, plus the signature white stitch at the back is a nice touch.

The really good news is that you can buy them now at Barneys New York by clicking the link (right). Go on... treat your feet!

Moving forward: Heard, a few months removed from her May split with actor Johnny Depp, looks to be rebuilding in the wake of her five-year relationship with the star, one of them as a married couple

Hot ticket: The event drew out a veritable who's who of the photography world, as de Cadenet posed with gorgeous L.A. photographer Paris Helena

Friday's celeb-packed event was put together to increase awareness and contributions toward the artistic movement.

In any event, if afforded Heard a chance to lose herself in the beauty of art as she winds down a tumultuous year in which her messy split from A-list actor Johnny Depp, 53, dominated entertainment headlines this past summer amid allegations of verbal and physical abuse aimed at the Edward Scissorhands star.

The Danish Girl beauty, who began dating Depp after sparks flew between the two on the set of 2011's The Rum Diary, initially accused the Hollywood stalwart of committing acts that amounted to 'excessive emotional, verbal and physical abuse' against her in a May push for a restraining order, but later recanted the claims when the two agreed to a divorce settlement in August.

A lot to take in: The art on display touches on social issues including standards of beauty and mental health, among others

Digitally-driven: Patrons are encouraged to submit their own works relative to the movement via social media

The former couple said in a joint statement upon the pact that 'there never any intent of physical or emotional harm' on either's behalf, and that neither had 'made false accusations for financial gain.'

'Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile,' the two said, 'but always bound by love.'

It's onward and upward for the blonde beauty, who's cast as Aquaman's (Jason Momoa) wife Mera in next year's Justice League as well as 2018's Aquaman.
