'Her reaction was perfect': Yolanda Hadid addresses her model daughter Gigi's feisty lash out after a prankster lifts and carries her following the Milan fashion show

Gigi Hadid made headlines in September after she lashed out at a prankster who lifted and carried her following the Milan fashion show. 

Now the supermodel's mother, Yolanda Hadid has spoken out about the terrifying incident. 

Appearing on KIIS FM's Kyle & Jackie O Show in Australia, the 52-year-old defended her daughter's actions.

'I think her reaction was perfect,' the mother-of-three commented. 

'That's girl power...they [her children] know that you don't let anyone touch you or do that, it's wrong,'

The former Real Housewives Of Beverley Hills explained she went into a panic when she first heard about the confrontation.

'I nearly had a heart attack when she called me, which was right after,' Yolanda explained. 

The reality TV star added she has tried to enforce a social media rule to her children, which doesn't allow them to post their whereabouts.

'We try to have a strict rule of, don't post where you are or post after you have left a place,' she explained.

'But with paparazzi out there, it is almost impossible not to be seen at a location in the moment.'  

After the scary event, Yolanda posted her support to her daughter on social media, writing: 'Bravo Gigi for defending yourself and standing up for what is rightfully yours.

'Your mind, body and soul should not be touched by anyone unless you want to... #GirlPower #Boundaries #Defense #BoxingSkills.'

Gigi took to Twitter to defend her actions after the incident, saying the prankster had no right to man handle her.

'I am a HUMAN BEING and had EVERY RIGHT to defend myself. How dare that idiot think he has a right to man handle a complete stranger. He ran quick tho...' (sic).

The Victoria's Secret model furiously lashed out at a man in September when he grabbed her from behind and tried to pick her up.

Gigi was making her way to a waiting car hand in hand with her sister Bella, when the man, believed to be serial prankster Vitalii Sediuk, grabbed her taking her by surprise and forcing her to fight him off.
