'An angry draft-dodging little orange groundhog': Jon Stewart has last pre-election dig at Trump as he interrupts Stephen Colbert monologue to lambast the presidential hopeful

  • The comedian delivered the scathing verdict in a sketch on The Late Show
  • Pretending to know nothing about the candidates, he is persuaded about the importance of voting to keep Trump from the White House
  • He branded Trump an 'angry tax-and-draft-dodging little orange groundhog'
  • Stewart has a history of clashing with Trump, having branded him 'F***face Von Clownstick' on Twitter in a spat three years ago

Comedian and TV host Jon Stewart managed to make one last pre-Election Day dig at Donald Trump - branding the presidential hopeful a 'draft-dodging orange groundhog'.

He interrupted Stephen Colbert's monologue on The Late Show last night, in a comedy sequence in which he played dumb about the candidates.

Stewart swaggered onto the stage as Colbert was explaining the importance of voting to a young girl, proclaiming: 'There's nothing in the law that says the people have to vote.'

When told Trump is on the ballot, Stewart spits a mouthful of water into the host's face and yells: 'What? Are you kidding me?'

Stewart took aim for Trump, who he branded an 'angry tax-and-draft-dodging little orange groundhog'

Yet when he is taken to one side by Colbert, Stewart's character reveals he does not know who the candidates are.

When told Trump is on the ballot, Stewart spits a mouthful of water into the host's face and yells: 'What? Are you kidding me?'

He then describes the Republican as an 'angry tax-and-draft-dodging little orange groundhog'.

Stewart described the Republican as an 'angry tax-and-draft-dodging little orange groundhog'.

It is not the first time Stewart has clashed with Trump - in 2013 they became involved in a Twitter row and the comedian branded the Republican 'F***face Von Clownstick'

Changing his tune about not voting, Stewart tells the youngster: 'You're voting'.

She responded: 'He's running against Hillary Clinton, I can't tell which is worse.'

At this point Colbert and Stewart both shouted: 'He's worse!'

Stewart and Trump have a history of arguing - they famously clashed on Twitter in 2013 after Trump appeared to have a dig about Stewart not using his birth name, tweeting:  'I promise you that I'm much smarter than Jonathan Leibowitz - I mean Jon Stewart. Who, by the way, is totally overrated.'

The sketch came during the last Stephen Colbert monologue before the election

Stewart responded by tweeting: 'Many people don’t know this, but Donald Trump’s real name is ‘F***face Von Clownstick.'

Days later Trump wrote in a 1.30am tweet: 'Little Jon Stewart(?) Is a p****, he would be hopeless in a debate with me!'

Stewart closed the sketch by rapping about Trump: 'He acts real tough, but he’s a wussy. He’ll probably fill the court with Gary Busey. And then he’ll grab your mother’s… kitty cat. Meow.'
