She does it her way! Rihanna refuses umbrella handler on soggy Ocean's Eight set in NYC before posting anti Donald Trump cartoon

Stars often use umbrella handlers when in the rain (think of P. Diddy), but not Rihanna.

When on the New York set of her new film Ocean's Eight on Wednesday, the singer held her own parasol.

The 28-year-old beauty - whose first hit song happened to be Umbrella - looked downtrodden the day after the Presidential candidate she voted for was defeated by Donald Trump.

Soon after the chart-topper posted a crude anti Trump cartoon on Instagram.

No help thanks: Rihanna carried her own umbrella while checking her cell phone on the set of Ocean's Eight in NYC on Wednesday

Sad girl: The 28-year-old beauty looked downtrodden the day after the Presidential candidate she voted for was defeated by Donald Trump

The Barbados native stared at her phone as she walked outside her trailer while being followed by an assistant.

She failed to crack a smile and had a serious expression.

The Stay hit maker was also in costume for her role in the spinoff.

Costume: Rihanna had on her baggy overalls, a green camo T-shirt, brown belt with big gold buckle and black combat boots

Her take: Soon after the chart-topper posted an anti Trump cartoon on Instagram

Rihanna had on her baggy overalls, which she has sported on a previous day of filming.

The Battleship actress added a green camo T-shirt, brown belt with big gold buckle and black combat boots.

On previous shooting days she has worn her long dreadlock wig down but on this day her locks were up.

Her vote: The ex of Chris Brown made it clear on Tuesday she had voted for Hillary Clinton

Other Ocean's cast members were seen later in the day.

Both Anne Hathaway and Sarah Paulson used umbrella handlers.

But Sandra Bullock clutched their own.

An excuse: She may have asked for her help because her hands were full

Ocean's Eight is a female version of the popular Ocean's Eleven franchise reboot starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt.

Clooney is one of the producers of this new film, which also stars his friend and Gravity cast mate Sandra Bullock.

It has also been reported that Sandra plays the sister of George's character.

She holds her own, in more ways than one! Sandra Bullock carried her parasol

Rounding out the team is Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Paulson, Dakota Fanning, Mindy Kaling and Helena Bonham Carter.

The caper from director Gary Ross opens in the US on June 8, 2018.

Rihanna's crude anti Trump cartoon was not much of a surprise to her 45.7 million Instagram followers. She had let fans know the day before she was voting for Hillary Clinton when she wore a T-shirt with a picture of herself wearing the politician's face on a T-shirt when hitting the polling station.

Quirky star: Meanwhile Helena Bonham Carter was spotted on the set in two different outfits
