Comedian Margaret Cho reveals she is staying in a sober-living facility after spending time in rehab

Margaret Cho is residing in a sober-living facility, according to a new report.

The Hollywood Reporter alleges that the 47-year-old made the revelation during a show at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles on November 3.

According to the publication, Cho claimed during her stand-up routine that she has been at the sober-living facility for the past five months.

The comedian apparently said that she had previously spent some time being treated in rehab following an intervention by friends.

The Hollywood Reporter claims that Cho joked she got drunk at her intervention after mistakenly thinking she was going to a party, and bringing along wine.

The publication reports that the star's rep said he could not 'confirm or deny' her claims.

It comes seven months after it was widely reported that several audience members walked out of Cho's show at the Stress Factory in New Brunswick, New Jersey when she started ranting.

A source told Page Six: 'She needed to be helped [up] by her boyfriend. Then she started her set, and every other word was "like" and "umm," and it seemed like she was trying to remember her act as she went along.

At the time, she blamed jet lag, tweeting: 'Actually for ONCE-I wasn't high. 'Twas jetlag! I just think that survivors of abuse should speak their truth & I do!'

Cho, an advocate for marijuana, also released a statement, saying: 'I love the Stress Factory and I love comedy. I’m sorry that I wasn’t at my best, but maybe in a way, I was. I bring the real me and my truth to my work.

'It’s not perfect, it’s not manufactured, it’s real. Everyone has a bad day at work. I was also upset because one of my heroes (Garry Shandling) just died. That doesn’t excuse my behavior, but it just shows that I am only human.'

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cho was back to her best at the Comedy Store on Thursday, and the audience enjoyed the show despite its heavy subject matter.

During her time on stage the star spoke about being raped by her uncle as a child, and defended her decision to bring up such a difficult topic.

'If we can shine a light on what happens to us, we have a shot at making rape obsolete. That's my dream,' she said, according to THR's Rambling Reporter.
