Icy on set? Julie Bowen speaks out about claims she and fellow Modern Family star Sofia Vergara are feuding

They are two of television's biggest stars, so it would only be natural if they had their diva moments.

But Julie Bowen swears there is nothing but love between her and her Modern Family co-star Sofia Vergara.

The 46-year-old revealed to Ellen DeGeneres on Wednesday about what really goes on behind closed doors between her and her co-star.

Julie told the daytime host that just the previous day she had heard a rumour that she was 'icy towards Sofia Vergara because [she's] jealous of her fame'.

'So I email her last night and then we talk and I'm like ''What shall I say you're funny'' and she says ''Aye please just borrow my blouse,'' so I borrowed her blouse,' Julie said.

And it certainly was a statement-making blouse, with the star wearing a one shouldered top with a large puffy sleeve.

Things may, however, turn icy between the pair as Julie played Make It Rain on the show which saw her and the blouse get drenched.

Playing against Ellen's hype man tWitch, Julie had to answer questions to win money for charity.

Determined to win $10,000 for Baby2Baby, each time she got a question right she had to pull a chord connected to an umbrella either filled with water or money - the star did not find the cash until the very last umbrella.

Julie - and Sofia - have now been on Modern Family for eight seasons, but Julie told Ellen she almost took another job.

 That's one sultion: The actress rang her co-star to discuss the rumour and Sofia said she just borrow her blouse to go on Ellen

Her character on the hit TV show Modern Family is pretty straight laced, but Julie Bowen proves that IRL she knows how to dress to impress.

'We are so, so lucky [to be on Modern Family] and to think I almost didn't do it. I wanted to but I was so, so pregnant with the twins.'

While no one said anything, the star felt being so pregnant meant she could not land the part. 

'I would go home and cry, I though ''I'm never going to get this and it's the greatest job in the world.'' So I took myself out of first place for it because there was another job auditioning where the lady was pregnant because I need a job, I would like to have the best job, the Modern Family job, but i can't have it so I'll put myself in the position for [the other job'.

'Then I had to do some scrambling to get it back. When I think of that it can keep me up in the middle of the night.'

Of course she did end up getting the job and her twins John and Gustav are now seven-years-old. 

Julie also has a nine-year-old son Oliver with husband of 12 years, Scott Phillips.
