Mindy Kaling looks downcast on Ocean's Eight set...after it's revealed her ex B.J. Novak is 'dating 21-year-old Instagram model'

It's been reported that her ex and good friend, B.J. Novak, has found new love with 21-year-old Instagram model Ceilidh Garten. 

And Mindy Kaling was looking rather downcast as she was spotted on the set of Ocean's Eight in New York City on Wednesday. 

The 37-year-old had her head down as she strolled through set as a bit of drizzle came down.

She also wore a camel coat, nude leggings, and a pair of white trainers. 

It was just one of several outfits that Mindy wore that day.

Later on, umbrella in hand, the former Office star rocked a preppy chic look with her midnight blue blouse, fitted skirt, and cosy black boots.

Mindy was camera ready with her hair worn down in a sleek and stylish 'do, and her complexion was polished off with smoky eye shadow and lip gloss.

She was also spotted in a black jumper and trousers and a navy and green jumper with skinny jeans, keeping cosy with slippers on her feet for each look.

On Wednesday, Page Six reported that Mindy's ex and good friend B.J. Novak had pursued a relationship with Instagram model Ceilidh Garten by reaching out online. 

However, his reported much younger love is said to have raised some eyebrows among his middle-aged friends, with one source telling the site: 'She looks like she’s about 12.'

Meanwhile, Ceilidh is said to have a 'genius-level IQ,' and was a paralegal who dropped out of college to pursue her social media led career. 

MailOnline have contacted B.J's representatives for comment. 

B.J's most high-profile relationship was with Mindy - who he has maintained a close friendship with - and the pair even co-wrote a book of essays together. 

The pair have dated on and off for years, but in May, B.J made it clear on Watch What Happens Live that they were just friends.

Mindy also spoke kindly of her former flame, telling Howard Stern back in 2014: 'He's a good friend of mine, yeah. He's my best friend.'

She continued: 'It was years and years ago that that breakup happened. I was so sad. Not angry, sad. That was the hottest I ever looked 'cause I stopped eating. 

'When I get depressed I stop eating. I was so miserable and so beautiful.'

Asked whether she would have married him if he'd asked, she admitted: 'At the time? Yeah. I was 24. For the record, if anyone had asked me to marry them, I would have said yes.'
