'I'm branded with the initials of a state I wasn't born in!' Jai Courtney confirms he got a Queensland TATTOO after losing a bet to Margot Robbie

Jai Courtney has confirmed he got a TATTOO after losing a bet to his Suicide Squad co-star Margot Robbie earlier this year.

The 30-year-old told The Project the tattoo was the result of a wager with Margot about Queensland winning the rugby league State of Origin series.

'There might be some permanent ink as a result of that bet being lost,' he admitted.

Tatt's stupid! Australian actor Jai Courtney confirmed he got a TATTOO after losing a bet to his Suicide Squad co-star Margot Robbie earlier this year

Showing off the ink to the audience, he said: 'It is on my wrist. You can't see it. It is tucked under there now.'

'Look, suffice to say I'm branded with the initials of a state I wasn't born in,' he said.

Margot previously spoke about Jai's tattoo on The Project several months ago.

'Jai and I had a bet': Margot Robbie revealed on The Project earlier this year that she and and Jai Courtney made a wager on the result of the annual rugby league competition

She explained: 'Jai and I had a bet that if Queensland won he'd have to get "QLD" tattooed on him, and if New South Wales won I'd have to get "NSW" tattooed on me.'

After journalist Carrie Bickmore asked if Jai followed up his promise, Margot replied: 'Queensland won. He's got a Queensland tattoo on his arm!'

Margot revealed the friends were getting everyone on-set involved, explaining the rules of the game in between takes.

Jai, who plays Captain Boomerang in the supervillain movie, took to Instagram earlier this year to reveal another tattoo he got during the shoot.

The inking reads 'SKWAD' across his forearm, and appears to be a memento from the film.
