Reigniting the spark: Martine McCutcheon, 40, revealed that her and husband Jack McManus's sex life does occasionally need prepping up because of the stresses of work commitments and raising their young son Rafferty, 21 months

'You get the giggles, then you go boss-eyed, then you go past it and you reconnect and you smile and get this flame inside that reignites. One thing leads to another.'

The former EastEnders actress also spoke of how she's grown to love using botox.

After her first session, Martine said it made her look deranged, but she went ahead and did it again anyway.

Forever young: The former EastEnders actress also spoke of how she's grown to love using botox

Takes some getting used to: After her first session, Martine said it made her look deranged, but she went ahead and did it again anyway

Smoothed out: She said she 'loved it' the next time round, claiming she still looked liker herself, just not a 'creased pillow'

She said: 'When I had a really tough time being unwell, and trying to have rapidity and it didn't go well, it basically showed on my face a lot and I looked ravaged. I just looked in the mirror and thought I've always had nice skin, I always had a nice beautiful glow, and it has gone.

'So I had Botox and I didn't like it, it made me look a bit strange, and then I had it again, and Oh my god, I loved it, I absolutely loved it, because it didn't look like I wasn't me anymore, I just didn't looked like me but not a creased pillow basically.'

Loved-up: Martine married Jack in Lake Como in 2012 after three years of dating

Martine married Jack in Lake Como in 2012 after three years of dating. She had previously been engaged to DJ Gareth Cooke, but their relationship ended in 1996.

Earlier this year on Loose Women, Martine revealed she blamed the pressures of her role in West End show My Fair Lady back in 2001, coupled with a hectic lifestyle for making her fall ill with ME.

She said: 'It was a real pressure especially on matinee days and then as well as shoots and relationships, and I think that’s why I got ME.

'I got a virus, infections and I don’t think anything else would have stopped me but that.

She added: 'It stopped me in my tracks. It was horrible. I’ve learnt a lot. But still now I’m here going "Should I be here?".

The chronic fatigue syndrome meant that mother-of-one Martine was confined to a wheelchair, sank into a depression and stayed at home for a month as she didn't want to see anyone.

Martine was named Best Actress in a musical at the Laurence Olivier awards at the time despite being criticised for near-constant absenteeism.

But she told the Loose Women she was a 'workaholic' who 'couldn't address her problems until she got ill with ME.'
