Home sales booming four months after Brexit, builder boss says

Demand for new homes is still booming more than four months after the Brexit vote, says one of the country’s biggest builders.

Redrow chairman Steve Morgan said reservations over the past 19 weeks are 6 per cent ahead of the same period last year.

‘I am pleased to say that the encouraging sales trend I reported in September has continued,’ he said. ‘With this robust sales performance and strong balance sheet, I remain confident this will be another year of significant progress for Redrow.’

In September, Redrow delivered a 20 per cent rise in annual revenues to £1.4billion and a 23 per cent rise in profits to a record £250million. Average prices for its homes were up 7 per cent to £288,600.
