Even pilots are exempt from the effects of the 2016 election.

While preparing for a flight from San Francisco to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, a United captain had to intervene after a racially charged argument broke out between two passengers, CBS reported.

A video captured the pilot scolding the passengers over the plane's intercom and was posted to YouTube by Jon Bauer on Friday.

'On my friend's flight from SFO to Mexico, some kinda scuffle broke out where an individual with a "plaid shirt and a capo cap" said something racist (about being "glad to have kept his guns") to an African-American lady, and she began to cry and freak out,' according to the video's caption.

While preparing for a flight from San Francisco, a United captain had to intervene after a racially charged scuffle broke out between two passengers. One passenger reportedly said something 'racist to an African-American lady', according to video from the incident

The two passengers were then separated and the pilot made the announcement.

'I understand everybody has their opinions; that's fine,' said the captain.

'If you support him (referring to Donald Trump), great. If you don't, I understand. However, we're out here to go to Puerto Vallarta, supposed to be having a good time, and what I do ask is that as people we have the common decency to respect each others' decisions and to get along on this three hour and thirteen minute flight so that we can have a good time when we get down there.'

During the announcement, the captain adds: 'Nobody wants to argue, nobody is going to change their minds by arguing.

'And let's keep our opinions to ourselves on this particular matter at this particular time.'

The unidentified captain then warns the passengers that if any more disruptions break out they won't be flying on his plane.

'If there's anyone that has a problem with this, that needs to vent or rant or rave, there's another flight tomorrow,' he said.

'You're not going to be on this one. I hope that's clear.'

Several passengers then clapped and cheered, showing their support for the pilot's statements.

Maggie King, the United Airlines spokesperson, released a statement saying the captain was informed of the incident and 'used the intercom to diffuse the situation and insure the safety of everyone onboard'.

'The flight continued without any further reports of disturbance.'
