'Can we stay in here for the next four years?': The hilarious reactions of Big Brother contestants who are the last six people in the US to find out Donald Trump has been elected president
- The 18th season of Big Brother started on CBS on September 21
- Contestants were told of the election result on Thursday night
- Only one of the six believed that Trump would win
- All expressed complete shock at the result
They are the first cast of Big Brother to be locked inside the TV during a US election.
And the six people still inside that house were also the last people in the country - perhaps the world - to find out that Donald Trump had trumped Hillary Clinton at the polling stations.
While the results were officially announced early Wednesday, the Big Brother contestants were only told on Thursday night.
Asked to predict who they thought had won by Big Brother, five out of six went for the Democratic candidate.
'Wait... what?': The contestants left in the house expressed shock and disbelief when told of the result on Thursday night. Initially, Shelby (right) was convinced it were a prank, while Kryssie (left) doesn't say anything
'Can we just stay in here for the next four years?': Said contestant Jason (right). Pictured left is housemate Justin
'The majority of the people who vote are older, white Republicans,' said Danielle (right). Pictured left is Alex reacting
However, as host Julie Chen told the group about Trump's shocking victory, silence and shock fell over the house.
'What the f--k happened while we were in here?' said Shelby, who was initially convinced that it was a prank by Big Brother.
Jason then asks: 'Gay people, where were you? Minorities, where were you?'
He then added: 'Can we just stay in here for the next four years?'
Only one of the housemates, Danielle, said she thought Trump could have won, because 'the majority of the people who vote are older, white Republicans'.
Shocking result: They are the first cast of Big Brother to be locked inside the TV during a US election - and the last to find out that Donald Trump trumped Hillary Clinton. The contestants are (clockwise) Alex, Jason, Danielle, Justin, Kryssie and Shelby
Trump, the president-elect, will be inaugurated in Washington D.C. on Friday 20 January, 2017.
Big Brother, which is now in its 18th season, airs 24/7 on CBS All Access. It started on September 21, so the housemates had a fair idea of the presidential race beforehand.
