Anything The Donald can do! Chris Rock and Ron Perlman join Kanye West in announcing 2020 presidential challenges

Many celebrities were heartbroken when Donald Trump upset the odds to become the 45th President of the United States.

And he is already facing challenges ahead of his reelection campaign after it emerged Chris Rock and Ron Perlman have joined Kanye West by announcing on Thursday they will run to become the next Commander-in-Chief.

Given the power of celebrity has been pointed to by some as the reason for the billionaire's shock trouncing of Hillary Clinton, it would certainly put the theory to the test if they follow through on their pledges.

In a typically hilarious Twitter posting on Thursday, Chris, who for the sake of office would be known as Christopher Julius Rock III, revealed his slogan will be 'the only thing white is the house.'

The 51-year-old also said: 'I'm gonna run in 2020 wish me luck.'

Ironically he once mused on the prospect of a possible Colin Powell run in his stand up days, mocking the fact people would often remark the retired four-star general 'talks so well.'

Meanwhile Hellboy star Ron, 66, made a desperate grab at relevancy when he said: 'I am hereby using my immense Facebook presence to announce my candidacy for President of United States, 2020.'

The dynamic duo are joined in the very early running by Kanye West, who threw his hat in the ring back last year when he gave a bizarre, rambling speech at the MTV Video Music Awards.

The Vanguard Award winner said: 'I don’t know what I stand to lose after this, it don’t matter though, because it ain’t about me, it’s about new ideas, bro, new ideas.

'People with ideas, people who believe in truth.

'And yes, as you probably could have guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president.'

While he has yet to announce his vice presidential pick, the tantalising prospect of a West-Vanilla Ice ticket remains very much in the offing, and would surely energise a huge swathe of disaffected voters.
