Ladies in red! As Scarlett Johansson models a bold crimson pout, FEMAIL's beauty team divulges their favorite red lipsticks of all time

Scarlett Johansson can pull off a bold red lip better than almost anyone.

The 31-year-old actress, who has fronted several Dolce & Gabbana beauty campaigns, has openly professed her love for the brand's red cream lipsticks on multiple occasions. (See below for her specific color of choice.)

And if the photos of her from yesterday's Tmall 11:11 Global Shopping Festival gala in Shenzhen, South China, don't make you want to put on a crimson lip too, we're not sure what will.

See below for our staff's favorite red lipsticks of all time.

Scarlet for Scarlett! Few people look better in a bold red lip than 31-year-old Scarlett Johansson, but with FEMAIL's favorite crimson lipsticks, you'll certainly stand a chance

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Nosferatu

'This was one of the colors that came in a set of mini Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks I picked up from Sephora, and I loved it so much that I ended up buying it in the full size. It lasts forever, is highly pigmented and is cool-toned, so it makes my teeth look whiter. Win.'

Giorgio Armani Rouge Ecstasy Lipstick in 400

'This has been my go-to red for a solid three years and counting. The CC formula is incredibly hydrating and the color goes on perfectly without liner and never feathers. I also love the satisfying magnetic closure.'

MAC Lipstick in Ruby Woo

'OK, so my favorite red lipstick of all time is not Ruby Woo. It's Riri Woo, a shade designed by Rihanna for a collaboration with MAC in 2013. Sadly my tube is long finished and the product is long sold out, but like Riri Woo, Ruby Woo is a blue-red matte shade (the former is slightly bluer in tone and slightly more pigmented) that stays put from morning until night - even after chowing down on a greasy cheeseburger for lunch.'

Dolce & Gabbana Classic Cream Lipstick in Devil

'I had the pleasure of interviewing Scarlett Johansson a while back and was able to quiz her about her beauty habits. She told me she has been using Dolce & Gabbana's Devil for years. But she was quick to mention that there is most definitely a shade of red for everyone, so keep trying until you find the one that works for you.'

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick-Kate Moss Collection in Wine (107)

'This is the perfect red. It's super hydrating and long-lasting with a matte finish. Whenever I wear it I get tons of compliments, but the best part is price. It costs less than $6!'

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in 714

'I discovered this color when Urban Decay unveiled its 100 new Vice Lipsticks earlier this year. I love it because it’s very pigmented and it lasts all day. It’s such a pretty matte color but doesn’t leave my lips dry.'

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Tesoro

'No liquid matte lipstick is 100 percent non-drying, but unlike some brands that shall remain nameless, Stila's long-wearing formula won't make you feel like you have concrete on your lips. This shade has a tinge of orange that warms up my pale complexion and feels more playful than a classic true red. I love wearing it to the office and for daytime weekend activities like brunch.'

Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Infatuated Red

'I love the deep old Hollywood red hue of this lipstick with its blue undertones. It makes my teeth look whiter, unlike some of the more orange-y reds. Plus, the pencil shape makes it user-friendly and easy to apply.'
