Tesco Bank hack: How it happened and what you can do to protect your account
Cyber-criminals broke into Tesco Bank's computer system last weekend and stole £2.5million from the current accounts of 9,000 customers - the largest ever cyber-attack on a UK bank to have resulted in a mass loss of money. One in 15 of the bank's 136,000 current accounts were affected. Tesco Bank responded quickly by suspending all online debit transactions - including contactless card payments - to prevent further criminal activity.
Lasting power of attorney helps families keep control if illness or accident strikes: Why you need one now and how to set it up
One vital document gives family members authority to handle the financial affairs of a loved one in need - meaning they can stay on top of household bills. It is known as a lasting power of attorney. But 44million people do not have one - 85 per cent of the UK adult population. And two-fifths of adults do not know what one is. James Ashwell set up the firm Unforgettable after caring for his mother Fay
How you can bet on the markets like a Wall Street trader: Commodities up on hopes Trump will boost manufacturing and fossil fuels
In recent years, increasing numbers of ordinary savers have been taking bets on everything from gold to more obscure metals such as palladium. The way ordinary investors can tap in to this market is through an ultra-cheap tracker called an exchange traded fund. These are becoming so popular they are even leading to a slump in hedge funds, which have had more than £22billion taken out of them in the past three months.
Childcare provision is 'key to retaining staff', say business leaders
A third of firms regard the availability of childcare as a key issue in recruiting and retaining staff, according to a British Chambers of Commerce survey of more than 1,600 business leaders. The study, supported by Middlesex University, found 28 per cent of firms had seen staff cut their hours due to the cost of childcare, 12 per cent had suffered a productivity slide and 9 per cent had seen staff leave.
The best commuter towns near London for a big profit on self-build revealed (but you'll need £2million to fund your project)
The top 20 towns to turn a profit on self-build have been revealed by a developer - but there's one slight catch. Those aspiring to build their own grand design in these hotspots will need a couple of million pounds to splash out on bringing it to fruition. Harpenden, pictured, was named top and those following this method there would need £2million.
The personal loan at just 3%: Sainsbury's cuts rates again to deliver best buy - but only for Nectar card holders
Sainsbury's Bank has once again trimmed its personal loan rate, dropping the best buy rate to a new historic low of 3 per cent. The new best-buy rate beats previous best-buy deal from Swedish challenger, Ikano Bank, by 0.1 percentage point, saving £15.44 in interest on a £10,000 loan repaid over 3 years.
This is the 'new' Volkswagen Golf... honest. Can you spot the 10 updated features on the refreshed but very familiar-looking hatchback?
Even a double or triple take of these first-release images of the 2017 car make it hard to identify any differences to the Golf currently on sale. Yet, while it might look the same it does have a new infotainment system, automatic gearbox and semi-autonomous driving features. Here are the 10 new elements of the familiar-looking Golf you'll struggle to spot
How Clarkson and Co blew £160million trying to mow down Top Gear: From Jeremy's £10m salary to £1,350 on bullets
The way Jeremy Clarkson tells it, The Grand Tour, the new high-testosterone supercar show he's hosting with Richard Hammond and James May, has all the ingredients that made Top Gear a world-wide success. 'It is full of middle-aged men falling over with the occasional car sticking its nose into the frame,' he says. For legal reasons, they are being careful not to actually copy any Top Gear features, but Clarkson says the constant will be Hammond and May, 'whom I hate'.

A 1.89% five-year fix with a reasonable fee: TSB pulls out the stops with bargain rate to tempt remortgagers
Fierce competition to woo mortgage borrowers shows no sign of abating with TSB the latest lender to slice prices to a new low with a 1.89 per cent five-year fix. The deal is available to borrowers remortgaging with 40 per cent equity and is fee free, making the overall cost cheaper than the lowest rate on the market, which is from First Direct at 1.84 per cent but has a bigger fee.

ASK TONY: Debt collectors are chasing me over a Santander loan that I've never had
I received a letter from a firm called Robinson Way asking if I had ever lived at an address in Essex. I replied that I had lived at my home in South-East London since February 1946 and had never resided in Essex. On February 3, I received a further letter from Robinson Way showing that a supposed £2,000 debt owed to Santander had been sold to Hoist Portfolio Holding.
State pension triple lock under threat: Will pensioners face stingier annual rises in future?
A demand for the Government to ditch the valuable pledge in 2020 was launched by MPs on the Work and Pensions Committee over the weekend. And industry experts have chimed in to point out the present system is costly and unsustainable. So how does the triple lock work, and what might replace it?
I'm retiring in two years - should I top up my pension or invest in buy-to-let?
Before you make any decisions about where to invest, whether to buy a rental property or what to do with your pension, it's generally a good idea to get a complete picture of your financial situation - and how it interacts with your wife's. In simple terms, this means adding up all your savings, investments and the equity in your home. These are your assets. Then do the same with your debts - your outstanding mortgage, overdrafts, car finance, any personal loans, store cards or credit cards. These are your debts. Assets minus debts = your wealth.
