Still going strong: Helen Mirren and Taylor Hackford, both 71, looked cosier as ever as they arrived at the premiere of his new film The Comedian in LA on Friday night

Helen looked as glamorous as ever in a vibrant purple ensemble, paired with a shimmering gold necklace.

Keeping her silver hair natural and opting for minimal, dewy make-up, the Trumbo star looked far younger than her years as she showed off her radiant and glowing complexion.

Meanwhile her husband Taylor chose a more classically formal look in a grey pinstriped suit, layered on top of a crisp pale pink shirt.

The pair, who have been together for thirty years, looked the picture of love as they cuddled up for the cameras at the premiere.

Stepping back to let her husband lap up the glory of his hard work, Helen was then seen chatting animatedly to actress Cloris Leachman, who stood out from the crowd in a bright red velvet top.

The couple were also joined by several other stars of the film, including Robert De Niro, Danny DeVito and Leslie Mann - who showed off her quirky style in a off-the-shoulder dress emblazoned with an embroidery kangaroo.

The Comedian, which is Taylor's first film for three years, was screened for the first time at the AFI Fest on Friday night - but is set to hit cinemas in January 2017.

The funny flick follows a raging comic who strives for the fame he once had - but is instead sentenced to community service after he hits an audience member in the head with his microphone.

Set to be a blockbuster, the movie boasts the likes of Robert De Niro, Leslie Mann and Danny DeVito in its cast.

Coupled up: Leslie Mann also cosied up to her husband Judd Apatow at the bash

Helen looked incredibly proud of her husband at the event - who she has been married to since 1997 after they met on the set of White Nights.

Despite having been together for almost twenty years, the couple have admitted that their first meeting was far from romantic.

The director reportedly kept the actress waiting at her audition for the drama, which left her furious.

However, things soon smoothed out for the pair who then embarked on an eleven year relationship before tying the knot - something which Helen believes is key to their happy marriage.

Man of the hour: Leading man of the movie Robert De Niro also made an appearance - playing a fading comic in the flick

Set for success: The Comedian, which is Taylor's first film for three years, is set to hit cinemas in January 2017

Dishing out her top tips for women at Elle's Women In Hollywood gala in Beverly Hills, she said: 'There are no rules about love, I don't believe - but don't be in a rush to get married. Honestly, I married Taylor much later in life and it's worked out just great.

'But give your partner the freedom and support to achieve their ambition. it's very important and that goes both ways for men and women.'

Despite vowing she would not marry in her youth, Helen also admitted she now feels she has learned a lot from her other half.

She added: 'We're very different but I've learnt a huge amount from him, including returning phone calls. If he gets a phone call, he returns it immediately.

'He's one of those detail-orientated people. I admire him very much. But then, it's a two-way street. I'm sure he's also learnt things from me.'
