Lindsey Vonn revealed she had surgery after breaking her arm during training.

The 32-year-old took to her Instagram on Friday to announce that she had fractured her humerus as a result of a crash in Copper Mountain, Colorado.

She even shared two x-rays of the gruesome injury as one appeared to be a 3D rendering of the actual break and the other featured a metal rod to stabilize the long bone in the upper arm.

Ouch: The 32-year-old professional athlete - pictured last month in Los Angeles - revealed she had surgery after breaking her arm during training

The gold medalist posted the snap with a lengthy caption which began: 'Yesterday started off well but ended badly.

'I crashed while training in Copper and badly fractured my humerus. I had surgery in Vail last night and everyone took great care of me.

I will work my hardest to be back on the slopes as soon as I can, as I always do. Thanks for all of your continued support [heart emoji] #NeverGiveUp.'

It has been a rough year for Lindsey as she has spent much of it trying to make a return from injury.

She had suffered three significant breaks near her knee joint in a super-G crash in Andorra back in February.

There was hope that she would be fully recovered for next month's races in Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada.

Lindsey always makes sure she is in tip-top shape and proudly put that on display just a week prior as she was spotted during an outing in Los Angeles.

She showed off her hard-earned abs as she stopped by new West Hollywood hotspot Catch LA.

The four-time overall World Cup champion, who sported a cropped, beige turtleneck, looked to be in good spirits for the outing

Meanwhile, Lindsey was recently named one of People's 25 Women Changing the World for her Lindsey Vonn Foundation.

The foundation reaches girls through camps, scholarships, speaker series, and educational programs.

'I want to empower young girls and inspire them in as many ways as we can,' she said, adding: 'We try and help them gain confidence and pursue dreams even when people tell them they can’t.'

The outreach is very important work for the Olympian, who shared: 'While I want to be known as the greatest skier of all time, I also want my legacy to be about giving back as much as I can.'
