Heidi Klum hits the runway in style as she dons patterned knit sweater and scarf after touching down at LAX

She has been a model for nearly two-and-a-half decades.

So no doubt Heidi Klum knows how to hit a runway in style.

The 43-year-old German beauty was spotted looking chic as she arrived for a flight at LAX Airport on Friday.

She looked pretty in patterns as she rocked a quirky knit sweater and scarf shortly after touching back down in Los Angeles.

The colourful outerwear featured earthy tones including brown, greens and blues as the scarf was black with white detailings.

The former Victoria's Secret Angel also wore a black and white striped top tucked into skinny light blue jeans and knee-high black leather boots.

Heidi accessorised the look with on-trend large aviator shades and gold jewellery including bracelts and rings.

Her signature blonde locks were pulled back in a ponytail as she let her evergreen looks show with minimal make-up on her face.

It has been a busy time in Heidi's life as she has enjoyed trips to New York and her native Germany in the past two weeks.

She will also be featured as the cover girl for SHAPE magazine's December issue as she could be seen flaunting her fabulous physique in her new line of swimwear.

 The mother-of-four, who doesn't have time to work out every day, shared her secrets for staying sexy and confident in the magazine, which hits newsstands on Tuesday. 

'I love my shape because it’s mine. At the end of the day, it’s not what anyone else thinks about my body but how I feel about myself,' the cover star said.

The America’s Got Talent judge who has four kids under age 13 added, 'I’m working it and owning it!'

In the publication the former Victoria's Secret Angel also discussed her diet along with misconceptions models face. 

'The myth that models don’t eat is totally not true,' the svelte cover girl said.

'I just think that because we’re in this business, we have to choose more wisely. It’s not just about doing the cardio so that you’re nice and fit, and slim and trim, but your heart needs to pump, too.'
