It was Jessica Chastain's time to shine Friday, and that she did.

The two-time Academy Award nominee was a stunning vision of natural beauty Friday in Los Angeles, as she walked the red carpet at the American Film Institute Fest for the premiere of her new political drama Miss Sloane.

The Martian stunner, 39, wore a blue-purple strapless gown with a bow at the chest, blue sparkled heels, diamond earrings and a pair of bracelets.

Jessica Chastain was a vision in blue at the Miss Sloane premiere in Los Angeles this weekend.

The star stepped onto the red carpet ready to promote her new film, stunning in a Prada sweetheart neck dress. The hi-lo hem showed off the light blue metallic interior of the piece too that subtly shimmered as she posed for photos.

The dramatic neckline added a racy feel to her dress that showed off her assets, while the bow embellishment gave it even more of a feminine vibe. She finished things off with matching bright blue pointed courts that were studded with crystals. She was certainly no wallflower in her bold ensemble.

Artists: Jessica was reunited with director John Madden for the film, as both past Oscar nominees worked together on 2010's The Debt 

Chastain was perfectly made up on the evening, with her red locks slicked back and matching lipstick complementing her ivory white complexion.

The motion picture, directed by Oscar nominee John Madden, seems to be hitting theaters at the perfect time, as it casts Chastain as a lobbyist hoping to move a bill requiring background checks on gun owners through the Senate.

The Zero Dark Thirty actress said that the film does not have a gun control-centric agenda to it, but rather is a dissection of the American political machine.

'Gun control is divisive because some people are immediately afraid that it’s a kind of confiscation,' she told Entertainment Weekly in August. 'And people who hear that in regards to this film will think it’s a plant to move them in one direction - it’s not.'

The Help actress told the magazine that in her research for the starring role, she observed and spoke with 11 Washington-based lobbyists - all women, from all political parties - and said the common bond they shared was that 'they all had to work harder than their counterparts' of the opposite sex.

The gender issue naturally coincides with this past week's U.S. presidential election, in which political veteran Hillary Clinton was upended by a novice in the spectrum, Donald Trump.

Following the defeat of the candidate who would have been the U.S.'s first female president, the Sonoma, California native on Wednesday posted an emotional statement on her social media pages.

In it, she shared her own childhood experiences in being told she couldn't do something because she was a girl - and what she feels needs to happen moving forward to alleviate the societal plague.

'We need to take care of our girls,' Chastain wrote. 'Systematic sexism is hard to fight. It brainwashes women in society into thinking that they're less than men. We can grow up to think that a woman [doesn't] deserve more. That they have no rights to their bodies. That they [shouldn't] speak up. That they [shouldn't] even think of reporting that rape.

A show of support: An emotional Chastain took to social media in the wake of the election to pledge her support to women and fight what she called 'systematic sexism' 

'When [you're] a women you think that no one will believe you,' the actress wrote, adding, '[I'm] here to say that I believe you. I will fight for you everyday of my life. I will support you as you ask for equal pay. I will applaud as you step forward in this world and inspire others with your power.'

She vowed that regardless of the 'color of your skin,' or 'where in the world you live,' she would be a positive presence for women and 'love you as my own flesh.'

The film, which also stars acting greats John Lithgow and Sam Waterston, hits theaters November 25.
