A harrowing open letter (inset) was published by the Cheltenham Guardians after they spent two hours caring for a vulnerable young woman named 'Emily' (pictured main) who was left by her friends during a night out on Friday. The group looked after the heavily intoxicated Emily while they attempted to track down her friends who thought it 'was funny' she was unable to look after herself. During the course of the night Emily was cared for by four different groups of volunteers and emergency service staff. Eventually she had to be taken away in an ambulance, costing the NHS £300.

Todd Kohlhepp (inset center) was charged with kidnapping after investigators found 30-year-old Kala Brown (inset left) - who had been missing for two months - chained up 'like a dog' inside a storage container (main) on his property in rural Woodruff. In an '48 Hours' special that aired on CBS on Saturday, it was revealed that Brown was kept in a cage inside the container, bound by her neck and feet - and fed just once a day. The container was dark most of the time, but Kohlhepp would let her out occasionally to walk around. Brown told her family that Kohlhepp once dragged her to graves on his property and threatened that she would end up in one of them if she tried to escape.

Spanish archaeologists have discovered a millennia-old mummy in 'very good condition' near the southern Egyptian town of Luxor. The find was in a tomb (right) probably dating from between 1075-664 BC. The mummy had been bound with linen stuck together with plaster. It was in a brightly coloured wooden sarcophagus (left and inset) and had been buried near a temple from the era of fourth-millennium warrior king Thutmose III. The tomb was likely to have belonged to a nobleman, Amenrenef, who was 'a servant of the royal household', the antiquities ministry said.

Geelong entrepreneur Mia Plecic (left), 24, turned her teeth whitening business and $1,000 in savings into a multi-million company last year, but lost it all just six months later. Ms Plecic, who was preparing to buy a new home and car with her successes, said she lost leadership of her business after listening to ill-advice. Large hail battered parts of south-east Queensland and cyclone force winds battered the Brisbane area on Sunday as thunderstorms swept the state for the second day in a row. Ominous clouds loomed over Brisbane with damaging winds reaching the speeds of a Category 2 cyclone. 160 kilometres per hour winds were reported near Brisbane Airport, where flights were delayed and stationary planes were struck by debris. The Port of Brisbane felt the full force of the wind with more than 100 shipping containers blown around.

One man, who carried out an investigation to figure out why the citrus flavoured sweet seemed to be in more ample supply, believes he has the answer. An Imgur user took to the social site to share a snap of the contents of a party size bag of Skittles - and as the image attests, inset, there's clearly more of the yellow hue than any other. In response to the user's image, a video from inside the Skittles factory has been shared - and it may hold the reason behind the colour inequality. The video from inside the factory shows the red, yellow, green, purple and orange sweets on a conveyor belt before being sorted into separate tubs based on their colour - but if you look closely, you'll see rogue yellow sweets in the pouches, left and right.

CCTV footage shows a woman walking out of the restaurant carrying the 10-month-old boy in the city of Shiyan, central China. The baby's mother had reportedly left him with the restaurant worker after she offered to look after him briefly. However, the boy's mother returned several minutes later to find her son and the woman had disappeared. Police managed to trace the woman and child within two hours using surveillance footage.

Graffiti artist TakerOne has created an amazing photorealistic mural of his best friend and her pet dog (left) on a historic building in Avondale, west of Auckland in New Zealand. Originally from Hungary, the artist came to New Zealand to pursue his artistic passions (right). The building was the town's first dentist and chemist, which operated between 1911 and 1920.

Devastating CCTV footage from China shows a grandmother accidentally dropping her four-month-old grandson 30ft down the side of an escalator to its death after she lost her footing and let go of him. The baby boy was reportedly rushed to hospital but died in the early hours of this morning.

A video of a blind puppy named Henry Nipper, of Chicago, Illinois, happily leaping through leaves is warming hearts across the internet. The clip has been viewed hundreds of times. Henry was born without eyes in 2015 and while his owners report that he loves sand and the beach, it appears Autumn might be his new favorite season. In the video clip, Henry bounds through a pile of multicolored fall leaves. The white pooch jumps up and down in the enormous pile of foliage. His owners say he loves the smell of fall and jumping though the brightly colored leaves - even though he can't see it.
