'He was all over the place and started getting really abusive towards the station staff,' a source told The Daily Star Sunday

He reportedly 'launched a tirade' at one woman in particular, who was so upset she had to go home.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: 'We were made aware of a man who was believed to be drunk and disorderly at Waterloo station at about 2.20pm.

'He was helped by officers to a taxi. No arrests have been made.'

MailOnline has contacted Paul Gascoigne's representatives for comment.

The former midfielder said he couldn't see whether a black security guard was enjoying his 'Evening With Gazza' show the venue was poorly lit.

Dudley Magistrates' Court was told Gascoigne humiliated Errol Rowe by asking him: 'Can you smile please, because I can't see you?'

Gascoigne was fined over a racist joke he made about a black bouncer during an 'Evening with Gazza' event

According to one witness account, Gascoigne said: 'You want to get to the front of the stage and smile so the audience can see you.'

In a victim impact statement read to the court, Mr Rowe, 38, said he had two decades of experience in the security industry but had cried after the show.

Gascoigne now lives in Dorset, also played for Everton, Middlesbrough and Italian club Lazio, and made 57 appearances for England between 1988 and 1998.

A love of drinking which started while he was still playing descended into a serious alcohol problem after he retired.

In March, Gascoigne was photographed clutching a bottle of gin and being escorted by a police officer in his home town of Poole.

Photographs then emerged of the former star showing cuts and bruising to his nose, lip and forehead.

Last year he was fined and made subject to a restraining order after admitting harassing his ex-girlfriend and assaulting a photographer.

He waged a two-week campaign of harassment against Mandy Thomas in March after the couple split, sending her abusive tweets, phone calls and text messages.

The court heard he became enraged with jealousy after she struck up a relationship with a paparazzi photographer who had spent months trailing him.
