Vin Diesel and Nina Dobrev fuel the hype for xXx: Return of Xander Cage at Los Angeles fan event
With the third installment in the xXx coming down the pike, stars Vin Diesel and Nina Dobrev roused support in Los Angeles Saturday appearing at a fan-fest for the film franchise.
Diesel, 49, looked every part the action hero at the event, which was held at Regal LA Live, wearing a navy blue bomber jacket with designer jeans and sunglasses.
Dobrev, 27, was a vision of beauty in a black sweater, with knitted light pink and blue patterns down the middle; a short black skirt and silver heels.
Get the party started: Vin Diesel, 49, had fans rearing to go for xXx: Return of Xander Cage at a fan event for the franchise in Los Angeles Saturday
Gorgeous: Nina Dobrev, 27, had hearts aflutter in her sexy get-up at the cinematic gathering
The Bulgarian beauty, best known for playing the roles of Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce on The Vampire Diaries, wore her black tresses down and carried a compact blue handbag.
The film stars posed with prominent attendees such as rapper Ty Dolla Sign, DJ Felli Fel and musicians Lex Larson and Louie Rubio at the event.
The highly-anticipated action film comes on the heels of 2002's xXx and 2005's xXx: State of the Union; while Diesel appeared in the original film, a blockbuster that raked in $277 million internationally, prior commitments kept him from appearing in the 2005 sequel, which featured Ice Cube in the lead role.
The second helping was not nearly as rewarding at the box office, taking in $71 million, but the upcoming film's elements apply more to the original.
Welcome break: Dobrev looked to be in a good mood at the event, but was clearly upset at this week's election results. She wrote on Instagram Wednesday, 'It's an incredibly sad day not only for America, but for the world'
No business like show business: With Diesel and Dobrev in tow, it's safe to say the third installment will not be lacking in sex appeal
Happy days: Diesel looked to be having a great time alongside co-stars Toni Collette (left) and Dobrev (right)
In the latest film, Diesel reprises his role as the titular character, Cage, emerges from exile, as many figured him for dead, with his focus set against Xiang (Donnie Yen) and a horrifying tool of destruction known as Pandora's Box.
Cage organizes a new group of fearless associates to assist him on his dangerous quest, which extends to levels that are sure to shock moviegoers.
The movie, directed by D.J. Caruso and also starring Ruby Rose, Donnie Yen and the great Samuel L. Jackson, hits theaters January 20.
Pals: The A-list action star shook hands with Ty Dolla $ign, a 31-year-old Los Angeles rap artist who's worked with the likes of Kanye West
Selfies: The stars shot a picture with the up-and-coming music standout at the fan-fest
Excited: Collette, an Oscar nominee for The Sixth Sense, has a lighthearted moment onstage with her co-stars
