She has since faced scrutiny for making her personal views public as a journalist, The Houston Chronicle reported.

'Since everyone is talking about how they woke this morning… ill just go ahead and say I could barely sleep from how happy and relieved I was,' Fakhar wrote in the post shared on her Facebook page on Wednesday.

'I’ve prayed about this for a long time. And I know many of the God fearing men and women out there have also.

'I prayed for the best leader that will turn this country that has become more violent and racist under the Obama administration than ever… into the America I once knew.'

Fakhar (left and right) joined KRIV in September 2015. Prior to that, she worked for TV stations in Austin and Lubbock.

'Want to talk about going downhill? Look what Obama has done… how he has made the entire country hate one another,' she continued.

'Were you happy with how many people were killing each other in our own country?

'I work in news… and I hate to say it… but the number of African Americans killing one another far outweighs the number of them being killed by whites.

'And now you have groups murdering police officers both black and white.

'How did this happen under the Obama administration? You guys wanted another administration like that?'

Fakhar, the face of Fox26 during the noon and evening news, issued an apology for making 'public my personal views on the outcome of the election and other issues.'

Fakhar issued an apology for making 'public my personal views on the outcome of the election and other issues'

'It was wholly inappropriate, as a journalist, to do that. Again, my sincere apologies,' she wrote on Thursday in a Facebook post.

On Facebook, many users were quick to come to her defense.

'I'm really sorry for the negative reactions you have received. You are a great reporter. Keep your head up and this too shall pass,' Emili Olivier Sherron wrote.

'Never apologize for your personal convictions. Unbelievable that people would denigrate your beliefs for simply being conservative,' Jimmy Coates wrote.

However, others pointed out that as a journalist her actions were not acceptable.

A spokeswoman for KRIV-TV said the news the station did not have a comment beyond Fakhar's apology issued on Facebook

'The reason why she should apologize is because of her position as an unbias professional journalism,' Ifeoma Ubasineke-Meremikwu wrote.

'It comes with the job. The majority voted him in not once but twice. Just like the people have spoken this election. It's not what she said... it's her platform that she's using to say it.'

'Be real people, her apology is to her employer Fox News' local affiliate, not to you personally. It's called job protection,' Eric Spillane wrote.

A spokeswoman for KRIV-TV told Dallas News the station did not have a comment beyond Fakhar's apology issued on Facebook.
