SEBASTIAN SHAKESPEARE: Dame Joan's THREE parties in one night shows her passion for life remains undimmed

Dame Joan Collins’s passion for life remains undimmed.

The evergreen 83-year-old star attended no fewer than three parties on Thursday night in quick succession — she was a guest at Sir David Tang’s book launch, dropped by the Mandarin Oriental for a bash to mark literary agent Ed Victor’s 40 years in the business, then turned up at Prince William’s Centrepoint party at Kensington Palace.

It is a wonder that her fifth husband, Percy Gibson, 32 years her junior, can keep up with her.

Goldenballs' goldmine

David ‘Goldenballs’ Beckham has the Midas touch when it comes to making pots of cash from Brand Beckham.

His company Footwork Productions, set up to manage the ‘exploitation of David Beckham’s name and image rights’, made an £11.5 million pre-tax profit last year, after signing undisclosed ‘agreements’ during the 12 months.

Thanks to the lucrative deals, the company paid a £19.8 million dividend to Beckham, who has endorsed Adidas, H&M and the whisky brand Haig Club.

Should 41-year-old Beckham’s face ever stop netting him a huge fortune, the former England captain has at least seven other businesses in play, too.

At the latest count, he and fashion designer wife Victoria have a combined fortune of £280 million.

Orlando gives Stella a fright

Film star Orlando Bloom proved he is no shrinking violet when he paddled stark naked with his girlfriend, pop star Katy Perry, this summer.

And judging by his latest antics, he still has the capacity to shock. The 39-year-old jumped out to surprise designer Stella McCartney, 45, as she posed for photographers at the launch of her menswear collection in London this week.

While she appeared momentarily startled by his behaviour, the pair were laughing moments afterwards. Besides, her husband of 13 years, publisher Alasdhair Willis, was there, too. No word on the whereabouts of Bloom’s girlfriend Ms Perry . . .

While historian Dame Antonia Fraser has admitted to a strong dislike of historical fiction, as it’s riddled with inaccuracies, she’s made an exception for Peter Morgan’s new TV series The Crown. ‘I adore it,’ she says of the Netflix drama about Queen Elizabeth II’s early reign, starring Claire Foy. ‘I think it brilliantly achieves being moving and real, even when something possibly is not completely true.’ There is, however, another reason Harold Pinter’s widow is hooked. ‘I want to marry Matt Smith,’ adds the 84-year-old. ‘It may be beyond me, but a girl can dream. ‘He gives a brilliant performance. He doesn’t look anything like Prince Philip, and yet he does it so well. He captures his mannerisms.’
