Film openings can be emotional experiences.

It certainly was for Miles Teller Monday night, when he planted a kiss on his girlfriend Keleigh Sperry at the New York City premiere of his upcoming boxing biopic Bleed For This.

He'd turned up to the AMC Lincoln Square Theatre cutting a dapper figure in fancy dress - though he also briefly wore the World Boxing Council (WBC) emerald belt.

Otherwise, the 29-year-old was wearing a pearl grey dress shirt beneath a deep olive green suit with a bit of sheen.

His dark green tie was speckled with patterning in various shades of red, and he'd accessorised with a large gleaming watch.

The Whiplash star rounded out his outfit with a pair of sand-coloured leather shoes, wrapping an arm about Sperry as she stood beside him.

For her red carpet outfit, the model had opted for a midnight blue embossed velour gown with a turtleneck and no sleeves. 

Her hair she'd slicked back severely, trammelling it into a small bun behind her head. A single gold bracelet glinted on her left wrist. 

Bleed For This stars Teller as world champion boxer Vinny Paz, who made a triumphant return to the ring 13 months after a car crash broke his neck.

Katey Sagal, who plays the fighter's mother Louise Pazienza, turned up in a glimmering black and gold dress that emphasised her svelte figure. 

A bit of fringe streaked across her forehead, and her wavy dark brown hair cascaded over the charcoal blazer she'd flung casually over her shoulders. 

Drop earrings shone underneath the lights, and she completed her ensemble with a simply elegant pair of black stilettos.

Martin Scorcese, who'd executive produced the film, cut a chic figure in a buttoned-up zaffre suit that matched his dress shirt. 

The Sons Of Anarchy actress popped a leg up as she and Teller stood for photos with the 73-year-old. 

At one point, both the attendant Bleed For This actors, as well as Scorcese and the film's writer and director Ben Younger, stood for a large group photo with their subject himself.

Paz left a few buttons of his white dress shirt open over his dress, and had pulled on a dark grey cap to complement his dark jeans and black dress jacket. 

Meanwhile, Younger had buttoned up his white dress shirt entirely but gone without a tie, buttoning up the black suit he'd paired with grey seemingly suede shoes. 

After its world premiere September 2nd at the Telluride Film Festival, Bleed For This will open in US cinemas November 18th and UK cinemas December 2nd.
