The Prince's sister-in-law the Duchess of Cambridge is reported to be 'thrilled' over the couple's new romance.

New Zealand's Woman's Day claim a royal source told them that: 'Kate is thrilled that Harry has finally found a girlfriend who looks like being a keeper'.

Stay warm like a Duchess in a checked coat this winter

October was a busy month for the Duchess of Cambridge.

But more appearances can only be a good thing for those of us who are dedicated fans of the Duchess' style. Following on from the floral Kate Spade dress and cornflower blue suit by Catherine Walker she wore in the same week, this outfit is another new addition to her wardrobe.

Her coat is by one of her favourite labels, Erdem, and we love the blue and pink check print. The nipped-in waist and longer length is super flattering, and when teamed with navy court heels, it's a very sophisticated look.

Unfortunately this Resort 2016 collection coat isn't available to buy but click (right) to shop the current collection at Net-a-Porter.

They added: 'She only wants the very best for her lovely brother-in-law - and Meghan looks like she fits the bill.'

In their report the magazine also claims that the Duchess is doing 'all she can to support Meghan' as she eases into her royal relationship.

However, the palace is yet to make any official comment on the Duchess's relationship with the actress. MailOnline has contacted the Kensington Palace for a comment.

The Duchess (pictured with her husband Prince William and Harry) is sure to make a good role model for Meghan having grabbed media attention for her own royal romance

The Duchess should make a good role model for the Suits actress having too attracted ample media attention for dating a prince.

Prince William and Kate may have spent time with Harry and Meghan over the past weekend as they visited the capital for Remembrance Day events.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who live in Norfolk, take up residence in their former home of Kensington Palace while visiting London.

The visit should have provided the perfect opportunity for the two couples to bond while relaxing after their engagements.

Meghan, who has been staying in Kensington Palace with Harry, is likely to have met the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge during their visit to London this weekend for Remembrance day

Well-placed sources have told the Mail that contrary to speculation, the actress had not met William and Kate previously.

Prince Charles was also in London over the weekend after flying back from Bahrain with his wife Camilla.

And, unusually, the Queen and Prince Philip will also be in the city for the next few days too. That means Harry could take the opportunity to introduce his girlfriend to his entire family.

Meghan was pictured enjoying the local area on Thursday last week when she was seen returning from a shopping expedition at Whole Foods on High Street Kensington - a short walk from the palace.

The palace officially announced that the pair had been in a relationship 'for months' in a statement from the Prince last week

Meghan staying with Harry in London is the clearest indication yet that the relationship between the divorcee and the fifth in line to the throne is 'serious'.

And the timing of Miss Markle's visit is hugely significant, not least because it appears she was in the UK when Harry publicly declared his love for her.

She is taking time off from filming her popular US television legal drama, Suits, to be with him.

The royal romance was revealed a fortnight ago after they were given away by matching friendship bracelets both have worn for months.

The palace officially announced that the pair had been in a relationship 'for months' in a statement from the Prince last week.

In his strongly worded statement Harry accused the media of intrusion and lashed out at the 'sexism and racism of social media trolls'. His message, via his communications secretary Jason Knauf, was that their relationship 'is not a game – it is her life and his'.
