Porpentina - created by author J K Rowling in the prequel story - is a witch on the one hand but a member of the Magical Congress of the United States of America on the other.

The character is married to Eddie Redmayne's lead role Newt Scamander, a wizard who inadvertently unleashes a plague of magical beasts on the city of New York - seventy years before Harry Potter reads his book at Hogwarts.

It's unknown whether she will be appearing in the movie's sequel, which has already been confirmed for 2018 along with three additional films that will follow every two years.
