The two friends were having a ball before they even got into the soiree presented by Prada at the Hauser Wirth Schimmel Gallery in Los Angeles, California, on Tuesday night.

The Joy and American Hustle director partnered with Prada to create the short film Past Forward which will be featured on the fashion house's website.
With such a style powerhouse behind the event, Sarah made sure to put her most fashionable foot forward.
The 41-year-old wore a midnight blue silk dress which had black lace edging on its three-quarter bell sleeves and collar.

Sarah was not joined by much older love Holland who, at 73, is three decades the 12 Years A Slave actress' senior.
