Kat Von D plunks down $6.5 million for Los Angeles home used in Steve Martin comedy Cheaper by the Dozen 

Kat Von D is getting an early start on the holidays - with a huge present to herself!

The L.A. Ink star, whose real name is Katherine von Drachenberg, is the proud new owner of the Los Angeles home featured in Steve Martin's hit 2003 comedy, Cheaper By The Dozen.

The tattooed beauty, 34, paid $6.5 million for the breathtaking three-story abode, TMZ reported, which sits in the posh Hancock Park neighborhood.

Kat will certainly have plenty of room in her Victorian-style dwelling, which was built in 1890, sits on 12,565 sq. ft, according to Zillow. The 11-bedroom, 9.5-bathroom house sits on about 60 percent of an acre in the prime area.

The interior presents a mix of brilliant hardwood floors which and carpeted areas. On the main floor of the house, Kat will have plenty of choices of where to spend her time: There's a sitting room, a library, a dining room with stained glass windows and a secret bar room which has a door leading to the outside. 

It also features a huge living room area, a den that sits atop a view of the home's pool, a lavish living room and a classically-styled kitchen, including a pantry. The first level has one-and-a-half bathrooms.

Dinner party: Should Kat want to have her friends over for a meal, she has the perfect place to do it, as the dining room has a vintage class about it with its wood paneling and windows

On the home's third floor, Kat will have access to three more bedrooms, two bathrooms, a bar-kitchenette area and a staging area with its original footlights.

A carriage house includes two bedrooms and another bathroom.

The home has previously played host to a number of celebrity residents, such as singer Lana Del Rey, TV producer Shonda Rhimes and actress Melanie Griffith, according to the outlet.

The Tattoo Chronicles author, who's been romantically linked to celebrities such as Steve-O, Deadmau5, Jesse James and Nikki Sixx, had tragically bad luck with houses in the past: A Hollywood Hills home she owned burned down in November of 2010, claiming the life of her beloved cat, Valentine.
