'People asked if I was pregnant again': Giovanna Fletcher says she was still body-shamed FIVE MONTHS after birth... as she urges others to be less judgemental

She famously raised awareness about the shaming she experienced about her 'mummy tummy' 11 days after birth.

But Giovanni Fletcher has revealed that she was still being told she looked pregnant five months after welcoming her second child, Buddy.

Despite stressing her dislike for the word 'body-shaming', author Giovanna told ITV's Lorraine on Wednesday that there needs to be a little less judgement and a lot more kindness.

Body-shaming: Giovanna Fletcher has spoken out again about being made to feel ashamed over her body after pregnancy

Recounting the story of the comments made by a complete stranger in February, Giovanna said: 'I was out and someone asked for a photo, before saying: "Oh look, Mummy still has her tummy."

'Then she asked me to be in the photo and I refused, so she said "Maybe in a few month's time when your face has slimmed down." It was worse five months later when I was asked if I was pregnant again.'

The wife of McFly's Tom Fletcher, with whom she has two sons Buzz, 2, and nine-month-old Buddy, penned a viral statement about the incident in March.

Taking a stand: The mum-of-two issued a statement on her experience with a new-stranger in February, when they commented on her 'mummy tummy' (picture, her memorable post)

Statement: The post went viral

It has now received over 75k likes and shows a make-up free Giovanna capturing her post-baby body in the mirror, admitting that the words had stayed with her.

The fiction writer Giovanna has gone on to publish a book, Happy Mum, Happy Baby, about her adventures in motherhood, which she was on the show to talk about.

'We go through pregnancy and you are so appreciative of your body for growing a human and all of a sudden it's out and you’re like "Urgh and [my body] shouldn’t be like this, but you should be appreciative of that.'

Healthy mind, healthy body: Sitting beside Dr Hilary, the author said that she is trying to promote a healthy body image

'I've never been a glamour model': Admitting that she's had stretch marks since her teen years, the star said that she wanted less judgement

Make like Lorraine in a colour block dress from Ted Baker

Lorraine’s always impeccably dressed on her eponymous chat show, wearing smart but stylish ensembles which offer some great workwear inspiration.

Today she opted for a colour block midi dress featuring a purple bodice and blue pencil skirt, which she coordinated with matching violet suede pointed heels.

We love this look on Lorraine, the pencil silhouette suits her figure perfectly; meanwhile the colour injects some into the piece.

This dress is from Ted Baker but is now sadly sold out, you can follow the link on the right to shop the current collection then recreate the look with one of the colour block dresses from our edit below, including picks from Vesper, Black Halo and St John.

On aspiring to look like a glamour model, Giovanna advised: 'I didn’t look like one before so why would I look like one now!'

She went on: 'I’ve had stretch marks ever since I can remember. Even as a child I had them in my thighs so to have them from having a baby is understandable.'

Giovanna added: 'Some mums are gym goer and that’s amazing, others not that’s their choice. Really we just need a little less judgement and a lot more kindness.'
