How to Get Away with Murder's Jack Falahee discusses his sexuality for the first time due to election

It took the results of the presidential election to finally convince How to Get Away with Murder's Jack Falahee to discuss his sexual orientation.

The 27-year-old heartthrob - who plays Connor Walsh - came out as heterosexual in two Twitter posts Tuesday written in support of his biggest fanbase, the LGBTQ community.

'While I'm not gay, on HTGAWM I play a character who's in an interracial relationship with an HIV positive man,' confirmed the Hillary Clinton supporter, who boasts 1.1M followers.

'#imwithher': It took the results of the presidential election to finally convince How to Get Away with Murder's Jack Falahee to discuss his sexual orientation

'In the past I've declined to discuss my own sexuality in an attempt to try and dismantle the closet. Opponents to my ambiguous answers to questions surrounding my sexuality argued the importance of visibility.'

Jack continued: 'Ultimately, I think that my stance has been unhelpful in the fight for equality. I Feel that I've sacrificed my ability to support the community for a more theoretical discussion about sexuality. Now more than ever, I want to offer my support to the community as an ally.'

The NYU Tisch grad also vowed to call a gay friend of his, whom he watched 'crying under a table' on election night

'We now have a VP [Mike Pence] who believes in conversion therapy, that homosexuality is a choice and that marriage equality will lead to societal collapse,' Falahee explained.

'We have a VP who doesn't believe that my friend should have the same rights as me, and that's scary.'

The Michigan native had previously played coy for his 2015 OUT cover, but admitted he'd 'lost friends to suicide' - some of whom were closeted.

'I don't think answering who I'm sleeping with accomplishes anything other than quenching the thirst of curiosity,' Jack told the mag last year.

'And moreover, it seems reductive...No matter how I answer, someone will say, "No, that's not true." We still live in this hetero-normative, patriarchal society that is intent on placing everything within these binaries. I really hope that - if not in my lifetime, my children's lifetime - this won't be a question, that we won't need this.'
