RHONY star Jules Wainstein spent $2K on Uber in 15 days and racked up a $40K credit card bill, her husband claims in bitter divorce

  • Couple appeared in Manhattan Supreme Court for spousal and custody hearing
  • Michael also pointed to on-camera drug incident involving estranged wife

Real Housewives of New York star Jules Wainstein and her estranged husband Michael traded accusations of drug use, negligent parenting and outrageous spending in a contentious hearing in a New York City courtroom Wednesday.

Lawyers for the reality stars, according to TMZ, let the dirt fly at a hearing intended to hash through the split couple's child and spousal support arrangements.

Jules, 35, whose background is Japanese and Jewish, said that Michael, a 44-year-old venture capitalist, leaves their two children, Rio and Jagger, with a nanny during their stays with him, and shouldn't get more visitation with them than every other weekend.

Not smiling: Jules Wainstein, 35, and her estranged husband Michael, 44, traded accusations of drug use, negligent parenting and careless spending in a Manhattan hearing on Wednesday

Too soon? Michael was soon spotted holding the hand of another woman, Elyse Bensusan, 36, after his divorce filing, but he claims he had no affair on his socialite spouse

Michael, through his lawyer Morghan Richardson, painted Jules as a prolific spendthrift, saying she burned through $2,000 on Uber rides in two weeks last month, and racked up a $40,000 American Express bill last year. The couple is deep in debt, Richardson told the court, noting that they have three maxed out credit card accounts and an Upper East Side property on the brink of foreclosure.

Jules - who told the court she took in $60,000 as a newcomer on Bravo's Big Apple staple last season, 'was then trying to keep up with her peers on the show,' and spending beyond her means, Richardson said, according to the NY Post.

Michael said that Jules has a drug problem, pointing to a televised incident on the reality show, but Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Michael Katz wasn't receptive to considering anything that has been broadcast as evidence.

Sleek stunner: The reality star looked fresh faced in a striped white jumper as she posed with her now-estranged husband in 2013 in the Hamptons

In the incident in question, Jules joked about drugging food she was cooking for her co-stars with prescription drugs. She told Carole Radziwill in the episode, broadcast on Bravo in June, 'I’m going to put Percocets, Lidocaine in [the food] ... somebody needs to take this party up a notch and it looks like it’s going to be me.'

Katz - who declined to order Jules to take a drug test - said during the hearing, 'I don’t decide my cases on what may or may not be on television - what proof do you have?'

No determinations were made on Wednesday, as Katz said that more clarity was needed on the estranged duo's financial situation. He warned both parties about the consequences of a nasty court battle, telling the estranged couple, 'At the end of the day, the two people that are going to be harmed are the kids.'

Tough times: A judge in the case between Michael and Jules Wainstein urged them to think of what's best for their two children in a hearing Wednesday. Michael was seen here with their kids, Rio and Jagger, in Watermill, New York in August.

Tale as old as time: The couple was married for eight years before their split this past summer. Here, Jules was seen at a Beauty and the Beast event with the children in September

Better times: The couple, seen here at a New York City event four years ago, tied the knot in 2008

Michael, who wed the exotic beauty in 2008, asked for full custody of the children upon filing for divorce July 15. Shortly thereafter, Daily Mail Online published shots of the businessman holding hands with a psychologist named Elyse Bensusan, 36. He has denied having extramarital relations with the medical professional.
