Avril Lavigne and Ryan Cabrera have said they are only friends.

But on Monday the two singers, who have known each other for 12 years, seemed like much more than that.

According to E! News, they were spotted 'snuggling up' at Chalk Point Kitchen in New York City.

'Avril was extremely affectionate to Ryan, giving him cute hugs in the booth and kisses,' the insider added. 'They seemed in love.'

And the drinks were flowing. 

'They were drinking white wine. [It] seemed like they were just enjoying the night not getting out of hand or anything,' the insider said.

Avril has said she suffers from Lyme disease, but has been doing much better in recent months.

'It was a very laid back evening. They had appetizers and dinner. Some plates included Fluke and Halibut.

'A bit later in the evening a man and woman joined them at the booth, and then [another] man came down to say hi to them.'

And the two were in a great mood.

'They were really friendly to everyone. Ryan was very bubbly and sweet to all the wait staff,' it was added.
