They had viewers on the edge of their seats with their subtle chemistry on Monday night.

But it looks like I'm A Celebrity fans have been deprived of one very saucy exchange between the jungle's only single campmates Carol Vorderman, 55, and Joel Dommett, 30, this week.

Shown only on ITV2 spin-off Extra Camp, deleted scenes from the ITV reality show hear 'single and ready to mingle' Carol teasing comedian Joel about 'touching his stick'.

'When was the last time you had a good stick?' she is heard asking the jungle hunk. 'Is anyone allowed to touch this stick, Joel?'

A cheeky Joel then responds: 'Absolutely, Carol. You can touch the stick. It's such a sturdy shaft.'

Excitement about a connection between the pair grew on Monday evening when they bonded over his Pi tattoo.

Comedian Joel boasted about having the mathematical constant - correct to 106 decimal places - permanently inked on his right bicep, much to Carol's delight.

The pair shared a sweet moment where they recited the number back to each other and Carol later went to the Bush Telegraph to talk about how intelligent Joel was.

She gushed: 'Joel is very clever and quite geeky. I'd never have guessed that about Joel. I don't know anyone else who's got a tattoo of Pi.'

Ahead of his appearance in the jungle, Joel predicted that he would bond with Carol over maths, when he was asked if he fancied the former Countdown frontwoman.

He said: 'I'm single, but I don't know if I'm ready to mingle. I like maths. I like to show my working out. I think she would appreciate that.'

While Joel's dating history is not widely publicised, Carol is known to have split from her pilot boyfriend Gareth Duff, who was 14 years her junior, earlier this year.

In an interview about being single, she told The Mirror: 'I'm not opposed to going out with someone 10 years younger, it's acceptable. But Duffy was 14 years younger – that was a bit silly really.' 

She added: 'I'm happily single, freely independent and doing my own thing.'

Carol was previously married to Christopher Mather in 1985 for one year, but she went on to start a family with second husband Patrick King.

They share a daughter Katie and son Cameron, both in their twenties, but split in 2000 after 10 years of marriage. 

Ahead of the jungle, Carol revealed that she was finally ready to take part in the reality show because she was post-menopausal.

'I have been watching the show for years and have laughed so much. It is so funny,' she said.

'Now I am a menopausal Mama, I am having the time of my life. I am doing a lot more adventurous stuff and it's the sense of adventure that I love about this show. It's a very free time in my life.'
