Beauty and brains! Cindy Crawford goes back to school to expand on her savvy business skills

She famously gave up a full ride to chasing her modelling dreams, and while that paid off, this star is hitting the books at college once again.

Cindy Crawford revealed she is back in the classroom on Tuesday.

The 50-year-old posted a snap of her desk as she prepared for a day of learning at UCLA in Los Angeles, California.

Back to school: Cindy Crawford revealed on Tuesday she is studying at UCLA's Anderson School Of Management

The modelling icon is currently brushing up on her business and money management skills at the Anderson School Of Management.

Tough choice: The 50-year-old (pictured last week) was given a full scholarship to study chemical engineering at Northwestern University but gave it up to pursue modelling

While many attend the school to get their MBAs it appears the model is doing a course rather than getting her degree.

Cindy is studying as part of a Women's Financial Boot Camp presented by Merrill Lynch.

Posting a picture of her desk which had her workbook, her coffee, her name and glasses ready to go, the star seemed very prepared.

But is seems Cindy was a little nervous as she captioned the image: 'Will these [glasses] make me look smarter?! Back to school...'

Cindy started on a college degree previously but never finished her education.

She is certainly not just a pretty face as the 50-year-old was the valedictorian of her high school and was given a full scholarship to study chemical engineering at Northwestern University.

The model dropped out however, after just a few months as her career started to take off.

Get a handle on a sleek clutch like Cindy's

Once upon a time a bag was an afterthought, but no more. Accessories can be the making of an outfit, an instant nod to fashion insiders that you get 'it'. And one like the black acrylic clutch Cindy Crawford carried to a recent Jimmy Choo event, is proof that regardless of physical size, these plus ones carry serious style weight.

If we're getting technical Cindy's is called a Minaudières. Her arm candy, which is aptly named the 'Sweetie', is crafted from ribbed acrylic panels and finished with a flap closure. It's designed to be held close to the body, tucked under the arm of cradled in your palm.

There's something enviably refined about the simplicity of Cindy's clutch. Unlike a glittery, jewelry box bag, this doesn't need to bring the razzle dazzle to an outfit, it's chic in its purity of form.

While Cindy's is available to buy online now, you may be tempted to shop around and see what other covetable clutches are out there. In that case, your first port of call should be our curated carousel below.

Already great at it: The modelling icon is currently brushing up on her business and money management skills but considering she just put on of her Malibu properties on the market for $60m she is pretty good with money already
