Alexa Chung shows off her long legs in skinny black jeans as she puts on a chic display for a stroll in New York

Her latest M&S range has been a huge hit.

And Alexa Chung, 33, cut a typically stylish figure as she stepped out to do a spot of shopping in New York's Soho district on Wednesday.

The designer wore a sophisticated grey blazer adorned with gold buttons over a pale yellow cardigan and white top.

Her legs looked super long in black jeans, and she added a flash of colour in the form of petite red heels.

Alexa enjoyed a cigarette as she sauntered along the sidewalk, momentarily resting on a bench to check her phone.

She wore her shoulder-length tresses straight from a middle-parting and enhanced her natural beauty with a minimal application of makeup.

A creative type, Alexa appeared to be feeling in an artistic mood, carrying a large Blick art materials bag.

The IT girl, author and model formed a collaboration with Marks & Spencer in a bid to revive dwindling sales earlier this year and it seems she has the midas touch.

The new Archive by Alexa collection, which went on sale just weeks ago, was dubbed a 'modern interpretation of archive pieces, fusing a rich heritage with contemporary style', and has been a resounding success.

Most notably, the £89 black Briggate trench coat (as seen on Alexa during London Fashion Week in September) which sold out online in sizes 6 – 12 within the first day of it being on sale. 

The 27-piece womenswear promised to bring old pieces back to life for the new season using Alexa’s unique approach to style.

The collection is undeniably Alexa, featuring the animal prints and PVC skirts that she often wears on the front row of fashion week.

There's also plenty of outerwear for fashion fans to wrap up warm in come winter and Alexa has given hero shapes from across the decades a fresh spin.
